She was back.

Her arms, her legs, they all moved under her command. There was no more headache, no more sweating palms, no more weak stomach. Tyler was finally Tyler again.

For the first time since it happened, the teenager was able to get up, stand out of bed, and feel her bones cracking from stiffness. It had been so long, too long since she had control over her own body.

Looking around the room, it was a depressing scene to her. The walls were gray, the shudders were down, the entire outside world seemed to be shut out from her and everyone else in the room.

It wasn't as big of a crowd as she made it out to be. Before she went under for the surgery, Ty remembered Zach, Owen, Claire, Grey, their parents. They were all here. Now though, now it was just Zach and Owen. Neither left her side, they couldn't. That's what made her heart flutter the most.

Standing in the middle of them both though, Ty found herself at a choice. Wake up Owen first, or wake up Zach first. Zach was there with her through the entire thing, and as cheesy as it is- she knew that because of it she had the kid wrapped around her finger. Zach was in love, and she had feelings for him too. But Tyler didn't know what it was like to feel that, the only level of love she ever got was from Owen. This was a whole new world to her, but she was excited to explore it with him.

Owen was her brother though, the man that had been with her through thick and thin. Even when they were thousands of miles apart, their love never died out. She was his number one concern, and it was clear to see that now.

It had to be him, it was always him.

Seeing the dark rings under his eyes, how his hand pressed against his face, and how his body slumped into the chair beneath him, Tyler knew he was exhausted. "Come on Owen, you didn't miss me that much did-" she choked out before swiping at his propped up arm.

It went right through.

Immediately Ty froze. Her eyes had to have been wrong.

Frightened, Tyler looked at her shaking pale hands. She looked the same, just as she did before...

Cautiously, she did it again. Tyler reached for her older brother, but as soon as she thought she was going to feel his comforting warm touch, her hand went right through.

"What?" She breathed backing away from him. With each stuttering step, she sent herself into the bed behind her.

Quickly, spinning around a scream left her throat as she stared at herself. Tyler was lifeless, pale form in the hospital bed, head shaved, wires hooked up in every possible direction. "Oh my god..." She covered her mouth feeling the tears start to build. "Owen!" She turned back to her brother trying to grab a hold of him. "Owen, please wake up!"

nothing. He wouldn't move, no matter how hard she tried.

"Zach?!" She spun next to the teenage boy who was on the other side of her bed. "Zach please, please hear me. Tell me you can hear me. Wake up!"

Nothing, nobody could hear her.

Suddenly, the door to her recovery room opened and the doctor from before slipped in. He made sure to stay silent, eyes fixated on her vitals being shown on the screen ahead. He tampered for a bit, and out of curiosity she watched what he was doing.

It didn't seem to be getting anywhere, the only difference that she could honestly see was the rising and falling of her chest before her.

That meant she was still alive.

Still in a panicked state, her eyes scanned the room for anything she could possibly use as a sign. Instead though, her eyes locked on a few small words on the doctor's clipboard.

Instantly, her heart felt as if it gave out right then and there.

Did Owen know? Did anyone know? The surgery didn't work?

This wasn't real, it couldn't be.

With a sad expression, the doctor covered the paper up on his clipboard and turned to face Owen.

She knew what was going on, Tyler knew what the doctor was going to say.

No matter what though, she couldn't stop him. The pushes, the yells, anything she tried to get his attention went right through him.

"Mr. O'grady." The doctor called stirring both Owen and Zach awake.

They tried to ask how the surgery went, but instead all they got was the somber look. "I'm afraid it didn't go as we planned."

"What do you mean?" Owen asked, the sleep slowly leaving his deprived eyes.

Taking a breath, the doctor tried to hold himself together. "I'm afraid your sister didn't react to the surgery as we hoped she would. It did take down the swelling, it has stopped the seizures, but I'm afraid after we cut the corpus callosum-" He stopped choking up. Then, he tried to find better words. He just couldn't though, there was no sugar coating it. "I'm sorry, but your sister is brain dead."
