A/N: Hey there. This is my first PTX fic and as you can probably tell by the tags it is centred around Avi and Kirstie. However the other members of the group are also heavily featured. It's from Avi's point of view and it starts the day he first meets the rest of Pentatonix. I've altered some details to make it work better. Hope you enjoy

I take a deep breath to try and make myself less nervous. Scott seemed pretty certain about letting me into the group but I know that a huge amount depends on my getting along with the others and we don't have all that much time. So there's Mitch and Kirstie and then Kevin who Scott found on youtube. I open the door to the rehearsal room and walk in. As soon as I'm through the door Scott walks over and greets me with a hug. "Avi! This is Mitch and this is Kirstie. Kevin isn't here yet but he shouldn't be long."

Mitch bounds over to me and waves excitedly before pulling me into an enthusiastic hug and beginning a stream of rapidfire questions directed at Scott. As Scott and Mitch chat about our song choice, Kirstie walks towards me, looking at her phone.
"Kirstie, say Hi to Avi."
"Yeah Kirstie, quit being rude." I'm about to disagree with Mitch and tell her that she's not being rude when she puts her phone in her pocket, looks up at me and smiles.

It's a sort of half-smile with only one side of her mouth turning up and it leaves me a little bit breathless. "Hi Avi." Her accent is the same as Mitch and Scott's but there's something about it that makes me feel a little warmer. "I'm Kirstie, it's great to meet you, I've heard great things."
"Hey, I'm Avi." Well that was stupid. She obviously knew that was my name. Mitch and Scott are sniggering at me but Kirstie just smiles and says "Yep, you are."

The slightly tense silence that follows her comment is broken by someone walking into the room. "Kevin's here!" Scott bursts out excitedly and we all move to greet him. The next few hours are spent working intensely on our audition song for the sing-off. We're doing telephone by Lady gaga and Beyonce. Mitch, Scott and Kirstie have done it before so it's up to me and Kevin to fit ourselves into the arrangement. Their vocals are so good it's hard to believe that none of them are even 20 yet. Kevin's also incredibly talented and seems like a really cool guy. I'm starting to feel like this group could be pretty good if we can get through this audition.

I shake my head a couple of times to clear it. I don't want my nervousness to affect my performance today, especially since that could affect the group's performance. Scott and Mitch have gone to find food, Kevin isn't here yet and Kirstie should be arriving any time now. As I'm thinking this she walks around the corner. "Hey Avi." She says, brightly smiling her usual half-smile. "Hey, how are you feeling?" It's the first time we've been alone together and it somehow makes me feel more nervous than the audition does. She's so bright and cheerful and giggly around Scott and Mitch but she's still kind of quiet around me and Kevin and I'm still not quite sure what to say to her.

"I'm super nervous." She giggles. "Nah, you don't need to be. You'll be great, just like you were yesterday." She blushes and looks down shyly. "Shut up."
"That's not very polite."
"Well, I'm sorry."
"Yep, yoooou really should be."
"Well, I really am."
"Well I suppose I'll let you off then Kirstie." By this point we're both smiling and Kirstie looks like she's about to burst out laughing as she says "Most kind of you Mr Kaplan" in a silly British accent. She attempts to keep a straight face but fails dramatically and we both start laughing.

"Well you guys look like you're having fun." It's Scott and Mitch and Kevin are walking beside him. Me and Kirstie smile at each other. "I suppose we are." Kevin grins at my statement and raises his eyebrow and somehow I know that he's going to be grilling me about this later. "Well party's over, we've got time for one more rehearsal before the audition." Mitch brings us all back to the reason we're stood here. As soon as Mitch has finished speaking Scott takes control and we get into the positions that we'll be in during the audition.

"Yes." Kevin yells as we run from the room. "We did it, we did it." Mitch and Scott are chanting loudly. Kirstie is grinning like she couldn't be happier and I feel an overwhelming rush of affection for her, for all of them. "We're going to be on the sing-off" I shout as I pull her into my arms and spin her around as she screams and laughs. I put her down, and she stumbles dizzily into Scott who bursts out laughing and hugs her tightly. I jump on Kevin and Mitch and they lose their balance and pretty soon we're all in a giggling heap on the floor.
