A/N: so this one is in both of their points of view. Each of them pick up from where their last POV part left off so you may need to check back so that it's not too confusing. It's not my best and it feels kind of rushed but it was necessary to get to the next part. After this I think there's going to be something of a time jump as there's not that much to write about. Hope you enjoy this chapter and thank you so much for all of the reads and the votes and the comments, it's amazing to get that kind of response.

Avi's POV

When I leave Kirstie's dressing room the first person I meet is Jess. "I've been looking for you everywhere. Congratulations!" She moves to kiss me but I shift her round so we end up hugging instead. It doesn't feel right to kiss her now. "Thanks babe. I better go and chat with everyone. You coming?" She grabs my hand and smiles up at me. We walk back towards the stage and I swing our hands together. "How do you feel then?"
"I don't know, it hasn't really sunk in yet." She nods and squeezed my hand. "Where did you and Kirstie go?" Oh so she noticed.

"Erm Kirst gets kind of nervous around crowds sometimes so I went with her to help her calm down." It's not a lie. Kirstie can be a little bit shy around big groups of people sometimes and she's a naturally humble person so having all those people around probably was a little bit intense for her. Jess nods. There's no suspicion or jealousy in her eyes and it only makes me feel guiltier. It was bad enough last time when we weren't even together. It's so much worse now when part of me is wishing I was still with Kirstie, instead of with my girlfriend.

We've been talking with everyone for about ten minutes when Scott comes over and grabs my arm. "Hey Jess can I borrow your boyfriend for a bit?" He's incredibly polite and doesn't sound angry but the absence of his usual friendliness makes me think that this might not be a congratulatory talk. Jess just laughs and lets go of my arm "Make sure you bring him back in one piece!"
"No promises." Scott replies, and it's hard for me to be totally certain that he's joking.

"What the hell are you doing Avi?" Scott hisses as soon as we're out of earshot. He doesn't even give me a chance to respond "Kirstie has just been crying because of you." I can pretty much feel the blood draining from my face. "I didn't mean to, it was an accident."
"What kissing her was an accident?"
"She kissed me too." My voice comes out weaker than planned. "Was suggesting a little bit more privacy an accident?" So she really told him everything then. "We were being idiots. We were caught up in the moment."

"You know that's exactly what she said the first time it happened." He doesn't even look angry now. Just sort of irritated. "Scott. I messed up ok. I know I did. I hate that I hurt her." Scott shakes his head at me "Do you know how bad you've been for mixed signals?"

It's a strange route for him to take with the conversation so I'm momentarily silenced. "You flirted with her like crazy, told her you weren't interested in being with her, almost kissed her, avoided her, flirted with her, kissed her, promised it wouldn't happen again, got a girlfriend, kissed her again, suggested you have sex, told her it was a bad idea and then told her how much you like her." He barely takes a breath.

"I'm an idiot Scott. I know I am and I'm sorry that I hurt her and I'm sorry that any of this ever happened."
"I believe you Avi. Listen, I know you can't completely avoid her but please just try and stay away from her for a while. For both of you." He's right again. It's annoying how he does that. "Mostly for her though." He shrugs "You made my best friend cry Avi. You're very lucky I like you." I really am. A lot of guys in Scott's position might have just hit me or something. Kirstie is really important to him and I was pretty unfair to her.

Kirstie's POV

Mitch walks into my room and sits on my bed. "I feel like we haven't even spoken since we won. You just disappeared." I shut the door since he neglected to and then sit myself down next to him "Well that is exactly why I wanted to come and see you. We won Mitch!" Before I've even finished the sentence he jumps on me and we cling to each other. Mitch has been my friend for so long and even though Scott's the one who I was in the same grade with and who I've been getting advice from recently, I completely love Mitch and he is the exact person I need to see right now.

He doesn't know anything about the drama going on in my love life and we can just celebrate together without having to worry about anything. So why isn't your gorgeous boyfriend with you?"
"What's wrong? Were you hoping to catch a glimpse?" Mitch laughs "Of course I was. He is hot Kirstie. No more than you deserve queen."

Mitch always knows how to make me laugh. "So where did you and Avi disappear to then?"
"Huh?"
"I saw you leaving the stage Kirst. You didn't come back until Scott went to get you." I swallow nervously and hope that Mitch doesn't notice.

"Oh you know how I get around big groups of people. He's pretty good at calming me down." Actually that's kind of a lie. Avi never seems to calm me down. Kind of the opposite and not always in a good way. "Yeah he's so sweet. You know if it wasn't for Matt and Jess I could have kind of seen you and Avi happening." I try and sound as shocked as possible "Really?" He nods thoughtfully "You guys have good chemistry. Plus you're both unbelievably sexy and you know how it goes when two sexy people meet up."bI burst out laughing again and it's like a dark cloud I didn't even know existed melts away.

"Well you know, I am irresistible." I reply, pulling the ugliest face I can manage. Mitch snorts with laughter and pulls an even worse face. By this point I'm giggling so much that I topple off the bed. We're both completely silent for a moment and then Mitch looks down at me and we start laughing hysterically.

He grabs my hand and helps me onto the bed and then crawls up to lay his head on the pillow. He pats the space next to him and I lie down facing him "But seriously, did you ever think about it?" I try and look cool "He's fairly cute I guess but he's not really my type." He really isn't, Mitch knows that much.

"Point taken. Matt is way hotter." I'm kind of undecided on that one but that's hardly something I can tell Mitch. "You planning on sleeping in here then."
"If you're sure your boyfriend won't get too jealous, you know since I'm your ex and all."

It's a joke we've had forever and it's comforting to know that even when my life is changing so fast some things can stay the same. "I think he'll cope babe." We climb under the covers and I shuffle so that I'm curled up with my head on his chest and his arms wrapped around me. "Night Mitch."
"Night Kirstie, sweet dreams."
