Ji-Young POV:
Strong aromas of acrylic paint and pencil shavings wafted into the hallway from the art studio. Ms. Ara - who insisted the students call her Ms and her first name, Ara - sat by her computer finishing off an email as students gathered into the room and to their tables from last year. Their were about 4 to 6 students a table but they didn't stay there for long usually. Miss Ara walked to the front of the class, smiling wide.
"Right students, as you know this year you have to create your portfolio" everyone groaned loudly " I know it is so exciting! but besides the moan and groan I decided for this part you can do whatever you want for it. You can draw or photograph or paint whatever you want and but it has to be high quality." She sighed and looked around. " Use your technique from last year and you will have the next 4 lessons on it. REMEMBER our main points, TEXTURE, TONE AND PROPORTION. Okay!" she smiled. "Let's go" her expression lowered and she went back to her desk to work on a piece she has spent the last 3 months on. Everyone rushed to get their stuff and to get the working computers. I stayed sat in my spot, took out my phone and found a person I wanted to draw and a background. I got my paper and my graphite pencils and acrylic paint and settled in to my zone, ready to focus for the next hour.
3rd PERSON:
Pale hazy afternoon sunlight drifted through the cold glass of the over sized windows of the art studio. JiYoung was sat, left side facing the window. The light reflected off her long medium brown hair and high cheekbones and the tip of her button nose. She looked angelic. The pencil scratched against the paper as she planned a sketch for the larger canvas. She chewed the edge of her lip in concentration. The class fell silent. The moment was perfect. The light, the angle, the serenity. Taehyung brought his camera to his face and zoomed in taking a few photos with varying perspectives. He took out his Polaroid from his bag and quickly zoomed to the perfect point. JiYoung was still looking down but she was sat perfectly straight and gracefully. Shadowed background contrasted against the brightness of her figure. The light still caught her features and she had stopped gnawing her lip, replacing that expression with slightly parted lips. The pink jumper she wore slightly slipped off her shoulder revealing just the right amount of collarbone and neck, due to her wavy hair being up in a perfectly messy ponytail. The light hid the dark circles under her eyes and the slight redness of her nose. For that second she looked perfect. The sound of a Polaroid echoed through the room causing JiYoung and Jungkook to look up in confusion. Both their gaze on a crouched Taehyung with a playful smile plastered to his sweet face.
Ji-Young looked at Taehyung questioningly before smiling nervously, touching the back of her neck. Taehyung smiled at her and walked back to his desk across from her, scanning through his photos before leaving the room to take photos throughout the school and on the school field. Furious pencil scratching could he heard from Jungkook's side of the desk as he glared where Taehyung had been seconds prior. He studied Ji-Young for a few seconds before going back to his drawing. Ji-Young studied his features for a second, his dark hair, large childish eyes, attractively boyish looks and strong jaw. Also the fact that his eyebrows were better than hers. His head snapped up suddenly and for a second their gazes locked. He smirked and looked back down at the page. Ji-Young smiled to herself before proceeding with her own work which oddly had taken on a slight Jungkook likeness. She laughed and carried on.
Ji-Young's POV:
37 minutes later
Miss Ara wrapped up the lesson by asking us to get up and look at others work. I hid mine not wanting anyone to look at it. Walking around, everyone's looked so professional and neat. I knew mine was good but not as good as these others. My self esteem lowered. The photographers went separately to ours so I never saw Taehyung's photos which I was aching to see.
Approaching the end, I could see neat outlines on Jungkook's page as well as a colourful acrylic background which had also been my idea, except mine was muted tones like ash greys and navy's. As I grew close enough to notice any detail, Jungkook swiftly moved in front of me.
"You can't see mine if I can't see yours." He smirked, gazing down on me. We were extremely close. I took a step back and Jungkook took his guard down. He stretched up and I slipped under his arm, laughing. I wanted to see his work. It's a perk of being short compared to him. I was 5'3" almost 5'4" while he was 5'8". But he had fast reflexes. His hands slipped around my waist and he swung me around away from his work.
"But I want to see!" I pouted.
"Then I have to see yours. Deal?" he knew I hated showing my work.
"You're so mean." I said as I walked away, putting my sketchbook in my art locker. He smiled and looked down, touching his neck.
"Another few hours with me. Are you ready for it?"
"Oh I am only coming to see Jisoo. You know that right?" I laughed "I am her unni after all." I said as the bell rang and we walked out of class. Jungkook put a hand on his heart and winced in pain.
"Why do you do this to me Ji-Young. You cause me such pain. WHYY!" he said, sinking to the floor dramatically.
"YA! stop being weird!" I hissed while laughing.
"C'mon chubs. You have to teach me a fuck ton of Shakespeare."
"No I think you're good. He was all dramatic and you are pretty dramatic." I said sarcastically. We walked past the school gates down the road to the richer side of town.
"He speaks English. He was an English man from 1600. I know nothing about England! Who knows about England? Who cares about England?" He screeched.
"You just offended the whole British population. They will throw hot tea at you." I paused and turned to him. "You love America though don't you. Because England made America rich and gave them technology."
"They did?"
"You should pay attention more." I rolled my eyes as Jungkook chuckled at my comment. He walked ahead as I trailed a few steps behind him.
