The sun was shining through the stain glass windows of Destiny's bedroom as she stood in front of the mirror brushing her long brown hair, trying to effortlessly get the tangles out. Not that there were tangles in it, but it was something she did to calm her nerves. Why was she nervous? Well it's because today has her wedding day.

"It's not tangled Des," A voice said behind her and the brunette turned to see her best friend Alec Lightwood.

"I know I'm just nervous," She says walking over to him and he wrapped her up in a hug.

"As am I, but there's nothing we can do. We are joining together two of the best Shadowhunters families. Our fate was decided the days we were born," The tall brunette says rubbing the girls back, as a form of comfort.

The girl sighs resting her head in the crook of Alec's neck, taking in the lovely scent that he always smelled like. A mix of pine and hazelnut. It was an odd combination to say the least, but it was always reassuring to Destiny.

"Isn't it bad luck for the bride and groom to see eachother on those wedding day?" She asked looking up at the guy she was destined to spend the of her life with.

Alec let out a laugh "For mortal weddings yes, but this is a shadowhunter wedding besides I knew you would be nervous so I came to reassure you,"

She smiled at him, thankful that he knew how she was with things like this. But, not only was she nervous because she was marrying her best friend but she was also nervous because they were both only 16 years old. Their parents arranged this marriage before they could even talk.

"Thank you Alec. I'll be fine, you need to go get ready and so do I," she says pulling out of his arms as he placed a gentle peck on her forehead before leaving her bedroom to go get changed.

After he left, Destiny walked into her closet and pulled out her wedding gown. It wasn't a traditional wedding dress, it was gold instead of white. For the shadowhunters, white was a mourning color so they only wore it for funerals.

Right now she was standing in front of the mirror waiting for her cue to enter the ceremony.

She admitted that she looked beautiful in her dress, after a few minutes her parabatai Izzy walked in "You look beautiful," she says smiling at her best friend.

Destiny smiled "Thanks Izzy," she says hugging the brunette. Soon it was time for her to go, after she left it was time for Destiny to walk down the isle. She linked arms with her dad who was smiling happy to give his daughter away to a good person.

She saw Alec standing at the alter looking handsome on his black suit, his soft brown hair slightly falling into his eyes but he still looked perfect, everyone stood up to watch her walk on by smiling at everyone as she went. Once at the alter her husband to be helped her up. They stood facing each other hand in hand as the preacher began the ceremony.

"We are gathered here today to join the hearts of two loyal and well working shadowhunters, may they be together forever and fight by each others side for all eternity," the preacher said blessing the newly couple to be.

"Do you Alexander Gideon Lightwood take Destiny Marie Stark to be your lovely wedded wife?" she asked looking at the groom "I do," Alec says with a smile before the preacher turned to the girl "and do you Destiny Marie Stark take Alexander Gideon Lightwood to be your lovely wedded husband?" she says. "I do," Destiny says smiling.

"Then its time for the rune exchange," the preacher says bringing out the sacred stele. One after the other the newly couple drew the two wedding runes on each other and then signed the marriage papers. It was a lovely ceremony with a lovely reception to follow, everyone was dancing and having a good time.

The newly weds got tons of gifts and ate lots of cake, they didn't like the idea of being married just yet but the thought isn't in the name its in the deed and they didn't want to let their parents down by saying they didn't want to marry but they want their parents to be happy so they didn't say anything. Now they have to try to make this work for their parents sake.

New story, hope you like it, I've had the idea for a long time now and I finally decided to write it.
