Slowly, I walked to my closet and pulled out my suitcase. I had a bit of money saved back in case of an emergency that I'd won by hustling people at pool with Dean. Ironic that I was going to use it now to get away from him...instead of winning it to be close to him...

Letting out a shaky breath as I began to pack my clothes, the soft sounds of music playing drifted into the room from somewhere outside.

"I'll wrap up my bones and leave them..." Daughter sang softly, her words echoing my mood.

Gently, I placed folded sets of clothes into the suitcase, pushing a strand of hair back behind my ear.

"Out of this home, out on the road..."

I glanced up then and looked around the room. This place had become home to me in the short time I'd been here - from those months I stayed with Bobby to coming here just a month ago with Dean.

"Two feet standing on a principle,"

Dean. I bit my lip, my thoughts drifting to him. We were arguing over principles now.

"Two hands longing for each others warmth,"

But I still missed the warmth of his hand in mine, the way his calloused fingers felt brushing my skin.

"Cold smoke seeping out of colder throats,"

We still fought though - shouting cruel things to each other, inflicting pain with our words.

"Darkness falling, leaves nowhere to go,"

Now because of her, darkness was falling around us - leaving us no choice but to end this...

"It's spiraling down..."

Everything had gone down-hill so fast for us. Her coming to town was just a domino effect, poisoning our relationship from the start.

"Biting words like a wolf howling,"

And worst of all, he blamed me for it. To him, it was my fault. I was the problem.

"Hate is spitting out each others mouths,"

All that we ever said to one another now were words of hate - cold, vicious things that only hurt each other even more.

"But we're still sleeping like we're lovers..."

But we had still been together, still kept loving each other through it all.

"Still with feet touching,"

His leg still touched mine when he sat next to me...

"Still with eyes meeting,"

His green eyes still connected to mine...

"Still our hands match..."

My hand still seemed to find his. I always grabbed it without thinking...

"Still with hearts beating..."

And my heart still raced when he was close to me, just like before...

"Still with feet touching,"

His booted feet still found mine under the table...

"Still with eyes meeting,"

His eyes still found me across the room...

"Still our hands match..."

He still grabbed my hand to protect me from anything...
