As I looked at the boy, he caught my eye and made eye contact. He nodded towards me and smirked. I blushed and looked at my feet. God damn. Now it must seem like I have a crush on him when really, I'm just awkward. The visitors were taken to the meeting rooms where they looked through our files. We were shooed up to our rooms and Abby and I sat on our beds for a while.
"Could Willow please come down to meeting room 8 please," the loudspeaker blared. Sighing, I stood up and walked down the hall, towards meeting room 8. Knocking loudly, the boy from earlier opened the door.
"Willow!" The woman exclaimed.
"Hi," I replied.
They beckoned me over and motioned for me to sit down.
"I'm Sadie and this is my husband Garret," she smiled.
"Draco," the boy muttered.
"Draconian," Sadie corrected.
"I'm Cherry," the girl smiled at me.
"Willow," I replied.
They asked questions and told me they wanted to foster me. They would keep me until someone wanted to adopt me.
Nodding, I stood up and walked back to my room. Abby and I talked for a while, before eating dinner and going to bed.Abby's POV:
I woke up to darkness. Checking my phone, I noticed the time. 4:45. Rubbing my eyes, I lay back and stared at the ceiling. I was happy for Willow to be leaving, getting another chance. But I couldn't help feeling sad and jealous. I had only just met her again, and now she's leaving me once again. I wish she would just stay here. Eventually, I got up and got ready before everyone else. I sat back down in bed and played on my phone before I head Willow beginning to stir.Willow's POV:
I woke up to see a dim glow coming from Abby's bed.
"Abby?" I murmured.
I looked over to see her fully clothed and her hair neatly brushed.
"Couldn't sleep," she whispered. I groaned and rubbed my eyes. I quickly got ready and packed up the last of my things. It took me until lunch and I didn't see Abby at all. Was she avoiding me? Running downstairs, I ate a sandwich and said my goodbyes to the others. Draco, Cherry, Sadie and Garret arrived shortly after and put my stuff in their car. Dashing upstairs, I swung my backpack onto my back and spotted Abby sat on her bed.
"Abby?" I said softly.
"Willow," she replied and stood up. I saw tears in her eyes as she hugged me.
"Don't leave me," she sobbed.
"Abby, I'll miss you so much but I'll text everyday, I promise," I whispered, stroking her hair. She nodded and covered her face with her hair.
"Hey," I said gently and brushed her hair away. Pulling down my sleeve, I wiped softly under her eyes.
"Stay strong, Abbadabba," I laughed softly.
"You too Willow tree," she smiled.
I left the room, and the realisation hit me. I wouldn't see her anymore. Tears welled up in my eyes and I sprinted downstairs before I started bawling.
"Ready?" Cherry smiled. I nodded and sniffed. Looking back, I waved to all the kids and spotted Abby at the top of the stairs. I smiled and did a peace sign. She giggled and did it back. I'll miss her.
