It was my mothers funeral today. Obviously my stepfather did not come, nor did he help organise it. It was Elliot's family who helped organise and fund the funeral. It was extremely hard to sit through. I wrote and gave a speech about my beautiful mother and how much I miss her. I wore a gorgeous, black dress and my hair was down with a Ruby red rose in it, tucked behind my ear. I played the piano, her favourite songs. I just wish my real dad could have been here, but he was up in heaven now with my mother. At least they can be together now. They will both live on in my heart.
After the funeral, I ran straight home not waiting for anyone, and burst out crying as soon as my bedroom door was shut.
"SHUT UP" David bellowed up the stairs. "You're being so stupid, why can't I have a normal stepdaughter?"
His words echoed down the halls and around my mind. Why couldn't I be normal?
