Altered

Altered~ I miss you...

As I walked through the front door I found Aunt Wilma sitting on the couch watching Bones as Brenda is discovering a new body.

"Hey." I say as I take a seat by her on the old Beige couch.

"How was school?" she says as she turns the volume down, waiting for me to answer.

"It wen't well, I've got enough homework for two weeks but I'm just tired. Relaxing before I have to start. I made a new friend, Sam." I say not mentioning once about Hayden and shocked that I told her this much.  There's a smile on her face. I'm guessing shes happy I've told her enough. More than I've said to her in the years combined. I feel bad. It's one thing that I don't say much in general with her even before Billie's death but very scarce now after the death.

"Well I'm glad about the new friend but about sorry for you with all that homework, my time is over with all that homework." she says. I get up from the couch and walk my way over to my room.

I can only think about is Billie. The way her hair swayed in the wind, her playful eyes whenever she was happy; I envied that about her the way she was able to be bright even when everything went wrong. But most of all I missed being able to sit down on the small hill not far away from the house where we had an amazing view when the sun settled and when it rised with her.

Its colors taking up the whole sky, when the orange and yellow mixing with the purple. Morphing into either the night sky or to the morning. Her favorite color was the purple.

Tears begin to fill my eyes, longing for my best friend back but knowing that it was to late. I remembered when she would point to the stars and name them and even made a wish sometimes. But the best nights was when she sang under the stars. Her amazing little voice would take up the night sky. She only reserved her voice to me and no one else. I was the only one who knew her talent. I fell asleep to her voice in my head singing her favorite lullaby.
