Chapter 6: Consumed in the dark

Mikasa POV

I don't really remember the details, all I do remember is that I was in pain. So much pain that I couldn't even cope by myself and just felt nauseous. See no one really understands what it's like to loss someone so important to you and not say goodbye. I did have someone, he got me through it and stood by my side when ever I needed a shoulder to cry on.

I still feel empty inside after all these months and my emotions was stripped away from me. I don't know, it just felt as if I would never be happy again.

Normal POV

*FLASHBACK*

"Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman both we're murdered and still investigating in the case but the main suspect is Zeke Yeager"

"Why didn't you do anything...WHY?!" Mikasa screams still in shock.

"I COULDN'T MIKASA!" he shouted in protest but could tell that he was mad at himself.

Eren comes running outside after hearing the ear piercing screams and cries. Mikasa is just cradled on the floor with Levi staring away from her. Eren runs up to Mikasa and cradles her in his arms before taking her inside to let her rest.

Levi is just outside her door because he didn't want to disturb them, after tell what had happened.

*PRESENT*

I had already asked if Eren was related to Zeke but he had no clue to who he was and if he was related. I couldn't thank him enough for him enough, for protecting me and caring for me. I just couldn't though. I was emotionless. Nothing could get me to be happy right now. There is just one way I could think of to take away the pain.

Eren POV

I've been trying to get Mikasa to go out or at least get out of bed, but day in and night see stays in bed staring at the ceiling. Eventually after a month she started to walk around the apartment. Recently I've been preparing for some test and assessment, but also helping Mikasa with catching up after the months of school she missed.

Officer Levi, apparently Mikasa's uncle has come by a few times to visit her and also talk to me for a while. I've also been discussing on the investigation of the murder but Levi doesn't want me to stress further or get involved. I went to visit Mikasa at her apartment and grabbed the spare key from under the welcome mat. I went inside and walk towards Mikasa room... she wasn't in bed. I walk towards the bathroom and the doors locked. "Hey Mikasa you there?" I hear muffled crying inside and I start to get worried because she wouldn't answer. "Mikasa please open the door"

"Leave m-me to die" she sobs still in the bathroom. I start to panic from what she said.

"Mika please open" I said, there was no answer. I knock down the door with all my might and look at the floor were Mikasa laid.

"Mika please no omg no no stay alive" I call out to her as I grab my phone and call 000 (911)."Don't leave me"

Her blood was leaking off her hand onto the familiar scarf she held tight.
