Chapter three: Some much needed training

-five years later-

"Listen up maggots!" Intructor Keith bellowed, "I don't expect you to think this'll be easy! You scum wouldn't be much use as titan fodder!" He kept saying this for some time, after an hour of shouting, (I counted, because holy shit is Keith a windbag...) Keith then did roll call. Starting with Armin, then worked his way through the trainees, headbutting one for being a smartass, picking up another for getting his salute wrong, and flipping his shit when a female cadet offered half a potato to him. (This guy...) Asura thought, (There's a word for what he's doing...boring.) "Who are you maggot!?" Keith screamed in Asura's face, "Asura sir." Asura said, "And before you get on my case about my salute being wrong, there's a reason...my heart is on the other side." Keith seemed to calm down after hearing that. "So you're the Outsider everyone's talking about..." he said, "So I've heard...sir." Asura replied, "So what do you hope to achieve by joining the military?" "To join the Scouts...rid this world of titans...and learn more about myself." "An Amnesiac, eh?" Keith asked, Asura nodded. After that, the other cadets were whispering to each other, wondering about where Asura came from. Asura ignored it for awhile, but soon became annoyed. "Alright, if you want to ask questions, say them to my face, not my back!" He said irritated, they all went quiet after that. "So what's your story Ashura?" One of them asked, "It's Asura! Remember how to pronounce my damn name right asshole!" Asura yelled quietly, "And I don't have a story...go talk to Eren if you want a story..." "That idiot? He just wants to get himself killed, my name's Jean by the way." Jean introduced himself, "Jean huh?" Asura asked, "Also, don't talk shit about Eren, he has his reasons for wanting to join the Scout Regiment...as do I." Jean (Pronounced 'John' btw...) stepped back and wondered something. "So..." another cadet asked him, "You were at Shiganshina when it appeared, right?" "Connie, right?" Asura asked, Connie nodded, "Yeah I saw it...the thing was roughly 60 meters tall." "And the Metal titan? What about it!?" Connie asked exitedly, "It saved Eren's mother and killed other titans..." Mikasa said, "I saw it for myself...if it wanted to, it could've crushed us underfoot, but it chose to save us...and it spoke." "I think it said 'Go...' am I right about that?" Asura asked, feigning ignorance, Mikasa nodded. (I hate having to play, 'let's pretend to be clueless' especially to Mikasa...) Asura thought bitterly, (But, until they're ready to know, I'll have to...) "How big was the Metal titan?" Another cadet asked, "16 meters, and it didn't look fully grown, if titans can get bigger..." Mikasa answered, then Jean and Eren got into a fight, Asura sighed and stood up. "'Sigh' I'll handle this..." he sighed, getting between them, he shoved them back putting both of them on their asses. "I swear, does every little thing have to turn into a pissing contest with you, Yeager!?" Asura said in a tone that sounded...commanding, "And you, Kirstein! Apologize..." Jean was hesitant. "Don't make me repeat myself..." Asura warned, Jean then apologized to Eren and went to eat again. (So scary...) Eren thought, (But then...Asura's always been like that.) The next day, the 104th Cadet Corps. were assigned sparring partners, Asura looked at three cadets. Reiner Brawn, Bertoldt Hoover, and Annie Leonhart, with suspicion...he didn't know why, but something about Reiner and Bertoldt seemed...familiar to Asura. As for Annie, she acted suspicious. She was also his sparring partner. "I won't hold back, Asura..." she said, "And I won't go easy on you because you're a girl..." Asura retorted, the two got into their respective fighting stances. Asura was in a more disciplined stance then Annie. The two rushed each other, Asura blocked a kick from Annie. Then delivered a palm strike that hit Annie's chest. Recoiling from the attack, Asura used her stunned state to knee her in the most vulnerable part of the body. Something Keith noticed...(Asura aimed for the solar plexus, the weakest part of the body..!) He thought surprised, (Hell of a move...) Annie held her stomach as a wave of weakness hit her. "Yield, Leonhart..." Asura commanded, "Never..." Annie said, she then charged, this time Asura dodged then grabbed Annie's leg. "Sweet dreams, then..." he said, before lifting Annie above his head, and slamming her into the ground. Knocking Annie out. Reiner turned to see Annie out cold, And Asura giving a look that said. 'Try anything, and I'll kill you...' (Does he know?) Reiner thought, (If so...then he's a threat that needs to be eliminated, fast.) A few weeks later, the 104th were running various drills, one of which was learning how to use Omni-directional mobility gear, or ODM gear, for short. Though he had some difficulty, Eren passed. A month later, everyone was jogging in the rain. Armin was struggling, but was trying to power through the training. (Armin Arlert.) Keith thought, (Built like a daffodil, but possesses a tacticians mind.) The next day was titan practice. As the 104th Cadet Corps flew at the dummies, striking the pads on the dummies napes. Asura was flying around, cutting target after target. (Mikasa Ackerman...) Keith thought, (Excels at everything, very smart, some might call her a genius.) He then looked at Eren. (Eren Jeager.) He thought, (A timebomb sometimes, but he's a skilled fighter. He also possesses a strong sense of purpose...and a drive so strong it's terrifying.) Asura cut through a few more targets. (And then there's Asura.) Keith thought, (A month ago, he was a complete enigma. But like Ackerman, he's good at everything he does, he's smart, a hell of a strategist, built like a goddamn tank, he's been given the title of Humanity's Jack of all Trades...a fitting title as he excels at everything he does...) (Training dummies, and practice...) Asura thought, (Are no substitute for experience.) Cutting another target.

-Timeskip four months later, graduation ceremony-

After four months, it was time for the graduation ceremony. Where the cadets would be able to choose the Regiments they want to be in. "Listen up!" Keith shouted, "If I say your name, that means you're in the top ten cadets, able to join the Military Police! The top ten are..."
