The doctor grabs Hazel's mom's hand and breaks the bad news.

"Ma'am your daughters lungs are filling up with water. We are currently trying to take care of the problem but there's a chance she might not make it."

"PLEASE! Please do anything to save my daughter!", Hazel's mom yells.

"Well, we can try to inject a high dose of Phalanxifor but we don't know how her body would react. It's a miracle she can already take Phalanxifor."

"Give it to her! Please! Save my daughter, please!"

"Would you like to see your daughter before we start the process?"

"Yes." Augustus says in the background. "I want to see her."

Hazel's mom starts tearing up and a small waterfall of tears start coming down her cheeks.

The Doctor directs them to the room where Hazel is temporarily in. Augustus and Hazel's mom walk in. You could see Hazel resting like an angel on the hospital bed. Her eyes closed. She looks like she hasn't suffered at all.

"She doesn't deserve this.", Augustus says quietly.

"No she doesn't, and neither do we.", her mom says quietly.

Augustus grabs her laying hand in his. He squeezes her tight, wanting her to tell him to stop because he was hurting her. No response. He starts praying in his head.

"Dear God or Jesus or whoever is listening somewhere. Please, please let Hazel live through this. She doesn't deserve this crap! Take me instead! She needs to live and have a happy life! Just make the Phalanxifor work and make her better. That's all I want. If I had my cancer wish, I'd use it on her to get better but I used it already to take her to Amsterdam. It was worth it though. Thanks for listening whoever is there."

The door opens and the doctor walks in. Two nurses dressed in blue scrubs and a white lab coat are behind him.

"Ma'am we're ready to start the process. We can't wait any longer."

Hazel's mom grabs her hand and kisses her forehead.

"Please make it through this honey." She says.

Augustus let's go of her hand and kisses her on the mouth.

"It's just a metaphor. Don't let your lungs kill you."

The two nurses grab the bed from each side and start rolling her out. The doctor follows them and Augustus and Hazel's mother walk towards the waiting room.
