3. The mess

The next day after school Scott stopped by his locker and check if there's any letter and yup of course there's one. He put it in his bag and walks out from the school. Scott was having a meeting with his football team at the vintage cafe across the school. "Guys you know what? I've broke up with Veronica." He said with a serious tone.
"Really? Oh my gosh so can I have her now?" Hayden cut the conversation. "What the fuck? You don't need to tell me that." Scott said. "Chill, I'm just joking." He scared of Scott.
"Where is she now?" David ask Scott. "I don't know somewhere in New York I guess." He said and take a sip of his strawberry milkshake. Veronica is the businessman's daughter. She's the only one in the family so she'll get everything she wants. She also had a nice body and very rich that's why there are many boys who wanted her. How they know Veronica?
She was in their school back then, she moved to New York about 5 months ago.
"Tell us how you guys broke up." David pull his chair and sit near Scott.
"I asked for it." He said calmly and stuffed some waffles into his mouth. Everyone's shocked, they're scared of what's Veronica will do next. She's the mean girl, she'll do everything she want and will not get caught because her father was rich. It's easy when we have money. Everyone also know how happy Veronica was when she first dated Scott. She was too happy and pay for everyone's food that day so the canteen was free.

After a long laughter, chats and talks they went back home.
Scott sit on his bed and open the letter.

'Dear Crush,
Thanks for coming to school today. I've no idea what it feels like if you're absent. I like your hair today. Is it your new hairstyle? You're cool.'

He smile and put it in a box that he put the previous letters. He then takes his bath and go downstairs to watch the tv.

Ashley was doing her homework. She noticed that these days Scott was not talking to her. Not even a word. He also ignores her. When she presented the slides in the Chemistry class, he was not paying attention and making noise with his friends at the back off the class. It's only a week she was there and too much bad things happened. She was still thinking why is Scott being like this to her. What she have done? Too many thoughts are playing in her head right now. Carol also absent in three days. And Karen, she was not going to school because she's on her vacation with her family to South East Asian. I felt very lonely and it was a mess that I need to eat by myself during recess. She was sad and she take a paper and start writing down. The letter to Scott is like her diary. She express her feelings there and let it go to the person that she love.

'Dear Crush,
I felt very sad right now, it's been some days that you haven't talk to me. Are you angry? Why? My friends aren't here now. It's so stressing me out. The reason I write those letters was to express my emotions and feelings toward you but this time I wanna tell you this because I want to feel relieved. Thank you for always read my diary. '

Ashley put the letter beside her books and put a pen over it to not let the paper fly away. She then throw her body on the bed and stare at the ceiling. She take her phone and text Karen and Carol.

'How you guys doin' ? My life are sucked without you guys. Miss you guys' She send the text in a group chat so that both of them can read it.

Scott was thinking about Veronica. He missed Veronica so much but he can't help, he can't control his anger towards her. Veronica's cheated and lying to him. He still loves Veronica. But he now look up at the letters and making many thoughts about his secret admire. Is she pretty? Can she replace Veronica? Is she good? All of the thoughts are playing in Scott's head.
