16. The lucky charm

"Wooooo" the cheering sound of the hockey game exploding from the mini stadium.
The referee blow the whistle and the game start. Carol was at the stand standing and shouting for Jack. Jack noticed her and waves. He then got crashed by the other team.
"Hey!" Jack hissed. The referee don't see it and not doing anything. Jack was so frustrated and start to being aggressive.
He then made a goal and everyone starts to cheer up loudly.
Jack keep the ball save so that the opponent doesn't make any goal until the times up.
The time's up and Jack's team won 1-0. Jack run to Carol and hugs her. Carol shocked and hugged him back.
"Thank you!!!" Jack smile and carrying her.
"Congratulation of your winning so let's go to the cafe after this. The meal is on me." Carol said and smile showing her teeth.
"Let's go." Jack put her down, grab Carol's hand and run to his car. They arrived at the cafe and saw Ashley and Scott there. Jack got jealous and approach them.

"Hey what are you doing here? I thought you're busy helping your mother out for a housewarming party." Jack smirked at Ashley.
Carol just stand beside him and look at Scott. She also get jealous because she know that Jack still have feelings for Ashley.
"What housewarming?" Scott then cut Jack's death stare towards Ashley.
"You don't know? Haha how funny. I thought you guys are a couple." He said and pull Carol to the seat that far away from them.

"How do you know that Ashley's having a housewarming party?" Carol ask Jack because she need to know if Jack was sincerely asked her to be his lucky charm in his game.
"She told me yesterday." Jack said and look at Ashley and Scott's place. They're not there maybe they've left. He said to him self.
"So the reason you asked me to be your lucky charm is to replace Ashley's place?" She ask with her glasses eyes. She almost cry after Jack nods.
"So you just ask me because you want her to be jealous?" She asked again. But Jack shakes his head.
"At first yeah, but then I know who's my real crush is." Jack said and go to the cashier to take their meal. He ordered spaghetti carbonara and Carol ordered Caesar salad. Jack then go towards their place with his tray and sit opposite Carol.
He hold Carol's moist hand and smile.
"Thanks for everything." Jack said with a smile wide.
"No problem. Remember that I'll always got your back." She grin.
"Why didn't I noticed you long ago?" Jack ask her and sigh. He then take a fork and stir the spaghetti.
"Mhmm" Carol shakes her head and raise her shoulders twice.
"So who do you like now?" Carol ask him as their friend's date gets more awkward.
"I don't know. I'm confuse." He said and stuff the spaghetti into his mouth. He was so sloppy there's even carbonara cream around his mouth. Carol was sad because it wasn't her but she'll always make up her mind that she'll always on behalf Jack even there's any problem he'll always on Jack.
"Hey you look funny." Carol laugh.
"What? Why?" He said while swallowing his spaghetti.
Carol the wipe his mouth using her finger. Jack was stunted for awhile and smile.
"Thank you." He hold Carol's head and kiss her forehead.
"Heyyy!!!" Carol hissed and wipe her forehead. Her pupils are on Jack but not her head. He was too shy.
"You know that you can look at me properly if you want." He tease Carol.
"Let's go home." Carol said and run away.
"WAIT!" He chase her.

Veronica was washing her hair at the saloon and the worker there greet her.
"You're Veronica?"
"Mmhmm" Veronica nods
"Wanna use your dad's VIP pass?"
She said.
"But this was my first time here and my dad's divorced." She told a worker with a ponytail there.
"Um but this VIP pass has used for about 3-4 times." The worker said and show her the history of the card.
"This saloon was only for woman right?" She ask for a confirmation and the worker nods.
"Thanks." She said and wait for her hair to finish.
"Here the money." She handed the worker the money.
"But you can use the VIP pass."
She raise her hand and shakes her head. She put the money at the counter and left.
She sit on a bench in front of the saloon and cry. She doesn't care about what others are thinking about her anymore. She just wanted to cry. She don't have anybody. Her dad had an affair with a girl that he said his friend. Veronica always caught her dad dating with the girl but her dad just said that they were friends. Her mom are married with another man at the countryside. She don't even want to meet Veronica because Veronica reminds her of his ex husband which is Veronica's dad. Scott? Scott don't love her anymore. She don't have anybody.

*veronica's phone rang*
It's from Chloe. She doesn't want to  pick up but Chloe call her so many times and she was annoyed by it.

"Hello." Veronica answer. Her voice was soft this time.
"Are you okay?" Chloe ask because she wanted to ask Veronica if she's free because she wants Veronica to accompany her to go shopping.
"Yeah" She tried to said casually but she lose. She can't help the hiccups. And then she cover her mouth with her hand because she don't want Chloe to hear.
"Are you okay?" Chloe ask again because she know something's not right.
"Yeah I'm okay." She said slowly controlling her voice.
"Are you still at the saloon?" Chloe ask and start to take her handbag and walk straight to her car.
"Yup." Veronica said
"Wait there." Chloe said and end the call. She drive fast to the saloon that Veronica was. She miss watching Veronica because Veronica was covering her face with her hand. Chloe was just in front her but still can't recognize that it was her.
She take her phone and open the window.
"Where are you?" She call Veronica through the phone. And she saw the girl that looks quite messed up picking up her phone. She was Veronica. She end the call and quickly get out from her car and run to Veronica.
"Why?" She ask and Veronica hugs her.
"Thanks for always being there for me." She cries.
"Let's go into my car you can tell me all of the stories." She said and pull Veronica into her car. She listen carefully of what's Veronica told her. She cheer Veronica up and treat her Starbucks.
