The sky was black, yet the birds were singing in the cold air. The branches rustled in the cold autumn wind.  With a sudden loudness, the silence was broken from Emily's alarm clock. She groaned as she pressed it off, and reluctantly crawled out of the comfort of her bed.

"Fuck school.." she said under her breath. She was slow, her mind was still twisted and confused, and her heart was torn between two men that she loved till death. As she walked out to put her boots on, her phone vibrated in her pajama pocket.

Alex:

Hey love, just letting you know that I love you and that it's gonna be a good day

She rolled her eyes as tears slowly started to rise up in them. As she opened the door, the cold wind slammed against her face, causing her to flinch and bury her head in her hoodie. The leaves under her feet crunched as she walked to the horse barn to get ready for their morning feeding.

The neighs of excitement and hunger filled the barn. Emily laughed as her horse paced back and forth in her stall, bobbing her head up and down while nickering for the grain. Her heart dropped as she remembered doing morning chores up at their farm with Jimmy. Always making her smile with his white cowboy hat on, with some flannel and tight fitting jeans. He was something to look at. Now she was alone. Nobody was there to hold her at night.

As she got dressed for the day, she slowly walked over to her dresser, and pulled a tiny box from it and opened it. In it were her two rings. Her engagement ring, and her wedding band. With tears cascading from her eyes, she slipped them into her pocket, so at least a little part of Jimmy was always there with her.

She sat there alone on the school bus. Her jeans were tight fitting, and showed off her hips and tiny calves. Her shoes were canvas sneakers that had LED ZEPPELIN on it and their symbols. She had on a loose Led Zeppelin IV shirt, and a baggy Jimmy Page hoodie with his storm trooper outfit on him. Her copper bangs covered half of her face, and the rest of her mane was covered behind a blue and gold beanie. She looked out the window so nobody could see her crying.

To find a queen without a king. They say she plays guitar, cries, and sings.

"La la la la.." she sang weakly. All she could think about was band practice with the boys. Especially her and Robert. Both of them would sit on stage, laughing, singing, hugging- anything that good friends would do. She remembered when Robert was moving some of Jimmy's amps.

"Hey could I get a hand?" he asked. Bonzo snickered and held up his middle finger. "How bout a finger?" All of us burst into laughter as Robert screamed at the top of his lungs.

"DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER LAUGHTER??!!"

Her body hiccuped from holding in the sobs. She had no friends like that now. All they would do is harass her, use her, make fun of her, and just not care. Zeppelin was more than friends to her, they were family too.

Emily walked into the 2nd week of school without a written excuse.

"And where were you Ms?" the lady behind the office counter asked with anger glimmering in her eyes.  Emily's face turned red with anger, and her eyes welled up with sadness.
