The house was filled with people. Bonzo brought his wife and son Jason, along with Lily, who was at their house for a play date. Jonesy and Jimmy were quietly talking to themselves about various different things. Even Robert showed up again, with a big grin on his face as he held Lily up in the air, and then held her close.
"You excited to meet Ms. Patty?" Robert said to her. Lily's eyes looked at him, and she shrugged. Robert's smile faded, and he talked to her in a hush tone.
"Lily, what's wrong?"
"It's exciting meeting my daddy's cousin and all, but she won't be able to meet my Mum.." Lily looked up at Robert with sad puppy eyes. Robert went to open his mouth but was interrupted when a voice yelled down the stairs in a funny accent.
"Hallooo!!!" she yelled down the stairs as she ran down them. Robert chuckled. Her hat was more flambouant, with a hot pink feather sticking out the sides. She had on a black and white cheetah print scarf that looked like it would suffocate her. Her blouse looked to be a grandma's old shirt with out dated floral print on it.
"Patty!" Jimmy said as he grabbed her hand.
"Guys, this is Patty." Jimmy said. Her eyes locked on Lily.
"Ah! And is this your little baby James?" Lily nodded her head and giggled.
"I'm not a baby Ms. Patty."
She walked over to her, and took Lily from Robert's arm.
"Lily.." she said in a hush tone while stroking Lily's hair.
"You will always be my baby." She said. Everybody but Jimmy and Robert looked confused, until she took off her hat and the scarf. They all gasped. Lily light up brighter than the moon, and held her mom close. Both of them started to cry.
"Mommy!" Lily cried into her shoulder. Emily crouched down to the floor with her child, and held her. A small sob escaped out of Jonesy's mouth as he ran over to her and joined in on the huddle. Soon enough, Bonzo, Robert and Jimmy were all huddled around their friend, their family.
"Look at us.. Back again." Emily said in a weak voice.
"I.. I thought you were gone for good. " Jonesy said trying to keep back tears. Emily stood up to him, and held him tight as tears from him trickled down her spine.
"Ah Jonesy. Have faith in your ginger git." they all giggled. She pulled her head back and gave him a kiss on his pale cheek, making him blush.
"Well.. Who the hell is hungry?" Bonzo said.
All united again, they all walked out back to the BBQ, and began to catch up on what they had missed.
