Emily's POV
Wow she's beautiful, I thought as I stared down at Honor, who is wide awake at 2:30 in the morning. She has brown hair, skin a little darker than Ali's, but her eyes are the exact same - Which made Ali cry when she saw it.
I looked over at Ali and saw that she was still sleeping in the hospital bed and smiled. I looked down at Honor and saw that she was starting to fall asleep. I softly rubbed my finger down her little face while she closed her eyes. I got up from the chair and laid her back down. She moved a little like she was going to wake up.
I released a breath that I didn't realize I was holding as she calmed down and stayed asleep. I checked my phone and saw texts from the girls in the group chat. I didn't bother texting back I was too tired. I pulled the chair close to Ali's bed and sat down in it. I started to play in her hair but stopped when she moved a little. I put my hand over hers and rubbed my thumb across it. I still can't believe that she gave Honor my last name. Well both of our last names but still. I smiled as I remembered the feeling when she asked if it was okay. That was a huge surprise.
Maybe one day I can hyphenate my name as well.
Ali's voice, of her implying that she wants to get married, popped into my head. I've been thinking about asking her to marry me for awhile but I didn't want her to think that i was moving too fast. I already bought a ring, how I've managed to hide it from her this long is still a mystery to me.
"Em." I heard Ali whisper, snapping me back to reality as I looked at her.
"You okay?" I asked as I stood up and ran my hand through her hair. She nodded her head.
"What time is it?" she asked as she yawned.
"A little after 3." I answered while looking at her.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" she said while moving to get comfortable.
"I just put Honor down a few minutes ago. I was going to fall back asleep eventually."
"You should've woken me up."
"You needed your rest, Als."
"I know that but we're in this together, Em" she said as a worry-line formed on her forehead. I rubbed my thumb across it and leaned in and kissed her.
"It's alright that you were sleeping, babe." I smiled at her. When I pulled back to get comfortable in the chair she grabbed my arm to stop me from sitting.
"Lay with me." she said, with sweet eyes.
I looked at her for a minute before saying "I don't know if I can."
"Em, I'm fine and I don't want you sleeping in the chair. It's uncomfortable, trust me I know. Come on." I thought about it for a minute before climbing onto the hospital bed with her. When I did she put her face in the crook of my neck and kissed it. "See. Way more comfortable." She said as she looked at me. I laughed a little.
"Did you do this for me or you?" I asked before kissing her forehead.
"A little bit of both." She said as she smiled.
"I can't sleep comfortably without you next to me. Besides we can both fit on this hospital bed so there's no need for you to sleep in a chair when you can just lay with me." I nodded my head as I yawned. I wrapped my arms around her and closed my eyes. I felt Ali move a little before gripping my shirt. Eventually her breathing evened out. I fell asleep right after that.
Ali's POV
I opened my eyes and looked over at Honor and saw her moving, so I knew that she was awake. I was about to get out of bed when I looked down and saw that I had a handful of Emily's shirt. I let it go and slid out of the bed.
