I opened my eyes and they focused on Ali. She was still asleep. I thought about last night, when we were talking about finding the father of her baby. I think its a good idea, since the child is also his responsibility. She mentioned that he was an Army guy so maybe I can ask my dad to look into it.
-"It's just, this isn't how I pictured starting a family."-
I heard her last night but I was too out of it to say anything. What did she mean by that? I'll have to ask her soon. I looked at her once more before getting off of the bed and going into the bathroom to take a shower. After my shower I brushed my teeth and when I came out of the bathroom Ali was awake looking at her phone.
"Hey, Good Morning." She said when she looked up from her phone.
"Morning" I said as I towel-dried my hair.
"How's your stomach?" She asked while smirking a little.
"Ali, don't start. I learned my lesson alright?" She held up her hands and got off of the bed.
"So, now you're going to eat soup like the doctor wants you too, right?" She asked
"Yes, I'll eat soup. No more fries or the pie my mom gave me." She nodded her head.
"Well, I'm going to take a shower. Oh yeah, we're going to The Brew for lunch. The girls want us to be there. Check your phone." She said as she walked into the bathroom. I picked up my phone off of the nightstand and read the text.
-Lunch @ The Brew. C ya there!-Hanna. I rolled my eyes. Honestly, I just want to be on the couch watching TV today.
I put on a tank top and some jeans and put my hair in a ponytail. I was hungry, so I went into the kitchen and grabbed some fruit and yogurt out of the fridge. I looked in almost all of the cabinets until I finally found some granola. When Ali came into the kitchen she sat at the counter.
"What are you eating?" She asked.
"Fruit, granola, and yogurt. Here." I placed a bowl in front of her. "It's healthy and good for the baby." I said as I put a spoonful in my mouth.
"Thank you." She said, then she tasted it. "It's good." Her eyes lit up.
"I know. In Cali I ate it almost every morning."
"What about the days you didn't?"
"I drank smoothies." I said while laughing.
"You still love your smoothies?" She asked while looking at me.
"Yeah, its easier to get around with. Besides, all I did in Cali was work and I ran a lot."
"A lot of things were on your mind? You always ran when they were" She raised her eyebrows at me.
-Yeah, you- I thought
"Yeah. Running helps clear my head. Sometimes. I can't now because of this." I raised my shirt a little and showed her the bruise that was still there.
"It's healing, Em. It was a lot worse than that in the hospital. Mostly your entire side was bruised the first week."
I made a face and turned toward the sink and washed the bowl out.
"Are you done?" I asked as I reached for her bowl.
"Yes." She said as she handed me the bowl. She got up from the counter, got a bottle of water out of the fridge, and walked over to the cabinet and pulled out two pill bottles.
"What are those for?" I asked while looking at her.
"Pregnancy vitamins." She put two pills in her mouth.
