*fuck definitions at least it's on time*

Robin knocked on the door, and Jordan opened it. "Hey," he said, sounding dejected. "Come in."

"What's up?"

"Nothin' much," he said, moving out of the way so that she could take off her shoes. "You're later than usual."

"Ma couldn't drop me off 'til now."

"Right." He looked down, then at her again.

"Uh... you okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm good."

She pulled out one of her books, and tucked her hair behind her ear as she worked. Jordan sighed. "I broke up with Diana."

"Oh?"

"She was cheating on me."

Robin looked up. "That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that."

Jordan nodded. "It happens, I guess." His eyes had a strange sort of fire in them. "You think you know somebody, then they go do something like that and hurt you."

She hummed in agreement. "That's harsh."

He sighed. "Nearly done?"

"Almost. I'll be right back, just going to the bathroom for a second."

Why was her heart racing so much? Why was she shaking and sweating? This didn't make sense. She didn't like Jordan anymore- she moved on because there was no use in liking someone three years older who'd never see her as anything more than a friend. Not to mention that she was nothing like Diana. Diana was tall and dark and beautiful. Robin was short and chubby. There was no problem with that to her, of course, but she knew it wasn't really what guys were after. She was okay with that. She had time.

She heard the bathroom door open behind her, and looked into the mirror to see Jordan. "Sorry. I knocked and you didn't reply."

"It's fine," she said quickly, moving aside. He didn't look like he'd come in to wash his hands- he was just standing there. "Did you, uh, need to go?"

"Nah, just got lonely waiting."

She blinked, waiting for further elaboration, but got none. "Right," she said slowly. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

"You're acting funny."

"Oh. Sorry."

"It's fine, I'm just wondering if you're okay."

"Yeah. I'm fine."

She tilted her head. "You'd better not be drunk, Jordan Casper, or I'm gonna have to leave."

"Nah, never drunk. You needed help with homework anyway, I'm not that irresponsible." He smiled slightly, and she felt her heart flutter. No- no she didn't. She wasn't allowed to feel things like that. Especially not for him.

"Okay, then." She walked past him, going back to the living room, where they were studying, and settling herself back down on the couch. "Ready to go to college?"

"Moving all the way across the country in just a few days." He laughed to himself. "That's one way to get away from it all."

"Yeah, it is. Are you excited?"

He studied her, his dark eyes moving over her face, before he cleared his throat, looking away. "I'll miss you guys. Toby and Song and Kat and Jen."

"We'll miss you, too. Not like you won't be keeping in touch, right?"

"Yeah, of course I will," he responded.
