I woke up to hearing sniffles, thinking it was Bea I groan. "Bea, shut up and go to sleep."

It wasn't Bea.

"Anslie, can I talk to you a moment?" A small voice asks. I groggily raise up and see Zach sitting at the edge of my bed. He looked as if he had been crying. 

"Zach, what's wrong?" I ask as I rub the sleep from my eyes. "Everything."

I sit there a moment considering what to do, I'm not a very comforting person but I open my arms up offering a hug anyway. 

He cries into my shoulder as I rub his back. "Hey, it's okay. Tell me what's wrong." 

We pull away and he sniffles again. "Bea. I try every way to get her to notice me, but she won't. She's too busy with Jack and no matter how hard I try she just doesn't see me. I know that you said she won't date guys younger than her but I just figured maybe if I tried hard enough she would see me differently." he wipes the tears from his eyes and sighs. "It's stupid, I know. I mean I barely know her, so why am I so upset?" 

I frown. "It's not stupid, Zach. Your feelings matter too. Don't get me wrong, I love bea, she's usually there for me, but I really don't think she's right for you. I mean, she's already cheated on her boyfriend plenty of times while being here but she still calls him every night. You really deserve better." I told him. 

"Is it okay if I sleep in here tonight? I can hear Jack and Bea laughing and flirting from my room." 

I look at him a moment. Zach looked pitiful, his eyes were puffy, nose stuffed, and red in the face more so than usual. I didn't understand why he was so upset over Bea, like he said, he barely knew her, but I guess things work in odd ways. Deciding to be a nice person for once, I sigh and nod. 

"Sure, but you better stay to one side of the bed or I will not hesitate to beat your ass."

Zach chuckles softly and crawls under the covers next to me. "Thank you, Anslie." He whispers as we both get situated on the bed. "Mhm." I mumble and turn to where my back is facing him.

A few minutes of silence pass before Zach speaks up again. 

"Goodnight." 

"Night."

"Anslie, guess what-" An energetic and loud Bea burst into my room, only to stop at the edge of the bed. I groaned and turned over only to come face to face with a sleeping Zach. That was when I realize his arm was wrapped securely around my waist. 

I panic a second before I remember that he slept in here last night. Forgetting about Bea standing at the edge of my bed with her mouth gaping open, I lightly tapped Zach on the head. "Wake up." 

He groaned and pulled me closer to him. I felt my face glow hot and Bea coughed over dramatically. 

"I just wanna sleep." Zach whines. I remove his arm from around me and sit up. "Yeah well we have company." I mutter. Zach finally raises up and his eyes widen when he sees Bea still shocked. 

"Uh oh." He curses under his breath.

"Care to explain?" Bea asks with an annoyed tone. I shake my head. "Nope. Now what are you doing in here?" 

"I was just coming in here to tell you that Jack asked me out, and that I broke up with Ben, but you're clearly busy." She stares at Zach for a moment with a puzzled expression. "Why is he in here again?" 

"We're dating." Zach blurts. Before I can protest Bea starts talking again. "Wow, Anslie, I never thought you'd get a boyfriend. How'd it happen?" She asks raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms over her chest. 

I glance over at Zach who shoots me a pleading look, I guess I'll go along with whatever this is. 

"Yano, things happen." I shrug and sling the covers off of me. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to speak to my boyfriend." I cut a sharp glare towards Zach and he gives me an apologetic look. Bea smirks and nods. "Don't get pregnant." 

I scoff and throw the pillow Zach was using at her as she exits my room. 

I turn back around to Zach. "What was that about?" I question.

He shrugs and puts his head in his hands. "I panicked, okay? She said she and Jack are together and I just- I said you and I were together to try and get a reaction. I messed up, I'm sorry." 

I frown and check my phone, something I do when I don't know what to say. "Well what are we going to do?" I ask. 

"I guess we'll have to tell her we're not-" Zach was interrupted by Bea shouting downstairs. "EVERYONE, I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. A MIRACLE HAS HAPPENED!" 

Zach and I both share a look before racing out of my room and down stairs to the kitchen where Bea was standing. Everyone had gathered around her by now waiting to hear her announcement.

"What is it, Bea? I'm trying to cook." Tayla asks. 

Bea smirks over at Zach and I. "Our dear Anslie has finally gotten a boyfriend." 

The room was dead silent and all eyes turned to me. "W-what?" 

"Oh sweetie, that's great!" Tayla grins and hugs me. My brother pulls a disgusted face, "ew." 

I roll my eyes and glance around at everyone else, until I see Corbyn. His face fell as he looked away when I caught him staring. I felt guilty, he must feel terrible after yesterday we shared a kiss and now I apparently have a boyfriend. 

"Who is it?" Jonah asks.

"No one-"

"It's me." Zach interrupts, coming over and placing his arm around my shoulders. I bite my lip, he wanted to pretend to date to get Bea jealous, I get that, but did we really have to make such a big scene over it?" 

"Woah." Everyone stared. Jack walked over and grabbed Bea's hand, shooting a glare my way as he did so. 

"Well," Tayla breathes, "breakfast is done."
