She was woken up by the sharp drizzle of raindrops hitting her face through the open window. Another night had passed and she'd managed to live through it. Clutching the book above her chest, the last gift she received from her love the night before he died in a car accident, "Love never dies", by Alan Hoffman, a tear trickled down her face, coalescing with the raindrops glistening on her cheeks. The irony of the gift struck her life such that she hoped he would have never had gifted it to her.
She remembered their last conversation.
"I bought it for you," he had said.
The warmth of his voice had made her feel so loved."Well, it ain't my birthday yet! " she'd replied.
"Uh..I saw this book and the title.. Umm.. I just wanted you to have it. It'll remind you that no matter what, our love will always remain alive and not even death can break us apart. "
Maybe it was a sign from God.
Maybe this is what people call telepathy, or even a deja vu of the weirdest kind... but to her it was just one four lettered word.
She hugged the book once again just as she'd hugged him before he left. And closing her eyes, she smiled.----------------------------------------------------
