~Chapter Sixteen - War {DAY ONE]~

5 MONTHS LATER

Shadow's POV

Im running around the plaza, dodging the people scattered here and there. Danny had told me someone was at the gates so im on my way there. I huff loudly when I make it up the ladder and to the tower above the gates. "S-So, w-whos here t-that I needed to get here..." My voice trails off and my ears fall to my head, my tail swishing in anger, stress, and worry. "You knew it was coming... I just didn't think this soon..." Danny worries. I stare at the lord. "Lord Genesis..." I growl. She claps, "Ding, ding. How could you forget?" I stare at her cloak. It's a deep maroon with a red rose embroidered on the front right side. Rosewood... "I see you rebuilt you village, only, it's too bad really, it's going to be back where it was. Oh! And hopefully, you'll be where your father stands, dead, ruthless, and mean. You already are a..." Danny cuts her off, "DONT YOU DARE CALL HER A MONSTER!" I shoot him a look that tells him to shut up. "I will be back in three days time, not that it will matter." She cackles and mounts her horse, along with the other guards she brought, mounting them in sync. The sprint off. "We need to get ready. Get the guard together, I'll call our allies, we have three." We nod at each other and run off to our separate spots, him going to the guard tower, me going to my study to write three letters, all along the same lines;

"Dear Acorntop/Pearlcloud/Eastcliff,

We are in a serious issue right at this moment. Rosewood has come and demanded war, giving us three days exactly to prepare. The lord, Genesis, thinking I had no allies, had decided to give me time. She didn't think twice. I had sent Danny, my head guard, to get together our group of guards, which consists of about fifty guards. We are building up our walls and securing our people quickly. Im taking time to write these letters to you three allies. I hope you get these, we are in deep need of your help.

                          Sincerely,

                                                                            Lord Shadow Gillian Wagner."

"RAVEN!" I shout to my wyvern. He flies into the room and lands on a wooden pole. "Yes, milord?" His scratchy, deep voice asks. "I need you to take these three letters to our individual allies. I took my time to write these and we need them immediately. Acorntop, Pearlcloud, and Eastcliff. Hurry!" I command, handing the small dragon the pieces of paper. He takes them up in his talons and flies back out of the window. I stand up from my chair and run out of my study. I run to the guard tower in the south of the village. I see Danny barking out commands to a small group of them. "Danny!" I call out to him, he turns. "Lord Shadow! I was just telling this group that they need to help the group in the east part of town get everyone to a safer place." I nod in approval, "Good. I just wrote the three notes to our allies. I am unsure of when help will come, but Im positive they will join us. Rosewood has allies of their own, so we must prepare for at least three times their own army." Danny growls and nods, then sprints to the west guard tower. "We and all of the Cherrymore village are counting on you guys to keep our people safe," I tell the group. "We will, my lord. Do not fret." One says, the leads the others to the plaza. I run back to my study, waiting for Raven to come back with letters.

About five minutes later, Raven's silhouette appears in the distance. He dives right into the window and perches himself on the leather glove on my right arm. He is fairly large, big enough for me to get on and ride, but small enough to sit on my arm. He drops the notes into my hands and leaves out the window. I open the first one;
