~Chapter Three - Him...~

Victor's POV

Shadow wears a mask now? And the old cloak we made? "Oh. Raven, I didn't know you had a brother." The guy with a bandana around his neck says. 'Raven?' I think for awhile. Oh, right! Shadow's title is 'the Slayer' and I've heard stories of her being a thief and a killer. I'll ask later. "Yeah, Raven. I didn't know you didn't introduce me, or even made mention of me." I place my hand over my heart, acting offended. "Oh shut up. To be honest I thought you were dead from BloodPack burning our village!" My little sis shouts. "Anyways, Aaren, Victor, Victor, Aaren." She says quickly. "Now, I have... uh... stuff to do. BYE!" She sprints off. "Raven get your tail back here!" Aaren shouts, but she was out of sight. He and I sigh. "Raven huh?" I ask aloud. "Yeah, is... That not her name?" Aaren looks confused. I don't do well under pressure and right now, I'm under so much pressure. "Uh... Y-Yeah, it's her name..." I stuttered. He looks at me suspiciously and I start to sweat. Then, he stops glaring at me and looks up. ...Singing? I think and then recognize the voice and song.

"I don't dance, but here I am. Spinning you around and around in circles. It ain't my style, but I don't care, I'd do anything with you anywhere."

It was just a small verse of a song dad used to sing to Shadow and me. Aaren's face is a little red. "I-I di-didn't know sh-she could s-sing." He stutters. "Alright Stutter King, but yes, she used to sing all the time with mom and me." He shoots a glare at me. The singing continues and Shadow jumps down from a tree. Aaren and I hide quickly behind a tree. Whenever she sings 'Spinning you around and around in circles,' she spins twice.

I missed her so much... She was and is the best sister ever, despite what she is...

Shadow's POV

I sang a song dad used to sing with Victor and me. 'I don't dance.' Apparently, it's from some famous guitar player from another village.

"Hmmm... Maybe Lord Sylvie has a guitar... I could use those skills again. Heh." I walk past a tree and sense heat radiation. I just smile and get ready to sing one verse. I grab Aaren's hand and pull him out from behind the tree and spin with him and sing. "I don't dance, but here I am. Spinning you around and around in circles. It ain't my style, but I don't care, I'd do anything with you anywhere." When I let go, his face is almost as red as the bandana around his neck. I laugh and start walking away. Victor walks up to me, following me to the 'oh-so-generous' Lord of the village. Victor is blabbing about some random stuff I don't really care about, so I just ignore him.

When we got to Sylvie's house, I knock. Someone runs to the door and Margaret answers. "Hello, Raven! Strange guy! WAIT! STRANGE GUY! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER!" She pushes in front of me and looks ready to fight him. She takes out a potion. I'm unsure of what it is because I've never seen it before. I quickly grab it and splash it behind me. I pull her arms behind her back and she yelps in pain. "Sorry, but mister 'Strange Guy' over there is my brother," I whisper in her ear, sending shivers down her spine. "S-Sorry!" I let her go and she runs back into the doorway. "So, what did you come for?" She asks. "Oh, right! I was wondering if Sylvie had a guitar I could use?" Her soft expression turned into a shocked one. "What?" I snap at her. "I-I just... Never took you for that kind of person... I know I just met you but... Still... I never felt that aura comes from you..." I nod, accepting her confusion. "One of my hidden talents." All of a sudden, someone jumps on my back. I hold them up, obviously. "GAH!!" I scream. I hear laughter. "Spyro... You have three seconds to get off of me before I make you blind too.." I threaten. He quickly jumps off, scared of my threat. Gabe just chuckles. Victor and Margaret just look at me, shocked and confused. "What now?" My ears flicked in annoyance. " 'Make you blind too?' What does that mean?" Victor asks. My mind goes blank, as to the other two behind me. "Uh... I went blind in my left eye?" I say, making it sound more like a question. Victor sighs and walks off, probably to process what I just said.

Margaret showed me to a well carved, oak wood guitar. My eye sparkles with love. "This... Is... The most beautiful... Guitar I've ever seen..." I manage to get out. Xander chuckles and pushes me slightly towards it. I shoot him a glare but turn back around to pick it up. I sit down on the edge of Lord Sylvie's bed. I use my magicks to tune the guitar. I strum a small song of one of the songs I heard outside of my old house.

~Flash Back~

I was walking to a small stand to get bread for mom so she could make my favorite, banana nut bread. Yum~! I heard a beautiful song being played on an instrument. I look to my right and see a man with a small beard and purple eyes. He is strumming a guitar and has a hat full of gold in front of him. Is he playing for money? I walk over to him and put two gold pieces in the hat. He smiles and thanks me. Before I leave, I ask, "Do... Do you think I could ever play like that?" The man stops and smiles a bit brighter. "Of course, young one." He looks behind him and grabs a guitar from behind him and he hands it to me. I smile. "T-Thank you!" He nods. "Make sure you practice most every day. You can soon be playing like me for all your friends!" I laugh and thank him again for the guitar and go to buy the bread.

~Flash Back END~

I was completely unaware that I was strumming the song the man was playing. Clapping brought me out of my trance. I look up and in front of me, I see Travis, Sylvie, Victor, Gabe, Xander, Loyd, Scott, Aaren, and Margaret. My face flushes, no one can see it... Still... I really need to let my face air out, clean it, all that jazz. "That was amazing, Raven!" I nod 'thanks' and put the guitar down and push past them and run away down to the beach. "Raven... When will you tell them?" Victor asks from behind me. "I don't know... Maybe tomorrow..." I use my magicks to take off my mask and I pull my hood down. "Shadow..." I sigh. I bend down and wash off my face. I go to put the mask in the water but stop. Not water resistant. I put it up on the dock next to me. I sigh again. Victor walks over and bends down next to me. "Thinking of all the possible scenarios hurt..." I speak honestly. He nods. "What is the one you're thinking about most?" He asks. I stop to think. "Being sent to be sold for a reward than being killed..." I say, sorrow seeping through my voice. Victor hugs me. I blink back the tears from my right eye. "Can... Can I see your face?" Victor asks. I nod and back away a little.

Victor's POV

Shadow's beautiful face has scars and bruises on it. Her left eye is pearly white, while her right is the normal yellow color. Her hair is knotted and messed up from her hood. She has her eye looking in a different direction, avoiding eye contact. I pat her back and pull her back into the hug.

She decided to tell them who she is tomorrow... I'll tell Xander and Gabe... For protection...
