~Chapter Fourteen - Wedding Escapees?~

Danny's POV

I pace my cell, waiting for this day to get over with. Today is the day Shadow is being married against her will because she was the lord's daughter of Cherrymore, a no-longer-standing village, and this wedding was already arranged. "Hey, Human." I hear the werewolf guard growl at me. "I have a name, ya know," I growl back. He steps into view so I can see his stupid werewolf face. "The wedding is about to commence, you may speak to the bride before she is married off. Let's go." He unlocks my cell and jerks my hands behind my back, causing a cramp to form in my right shoulder. I bark in pain, him not caring, he starts to push me up to Shadow's room.

Once there, the guard knocks on the tall wooden door. "What?" An aggravated, tired voice says from the other side. "Miss Shadow. A visitor." He scowls. I hear a click and the door creaks open a crack. "Danny..." She whispers. "Come in, DANNY ONLY." She raises her voice on the last part. Werewolf guard lets go of my hands and backs up. Shadow pulls me into the room, almost throwing me to the side wall. "That's one way to greet me..." My voice trails off after I see what she looks like. "S-Shadow... You look... I mean this in the most un-offensive way possible... Horrible!" She nods, "I tore up the dress, I haven't slept since we got here, and I cried most of those times. Im probably not going to look the best." I sigh and then open my mouth. "Why did you pull me in here so fast?" She walks away and grabs something from the pine wood desk near the door. She straightens what I see is papers and turns back around. Next thing I know, the papers are in my hands and Im reading them off in my head. "You think...?" She smirks, "I know..." I had the papers back. "Change into your normal stuff though." Shadow scowls and walks to the closet. After a few seconds, the golden-eyed young lady steps out and is in her normal blue shirt, black ripped pants, combat boots and deep, ocean blue cloak. "Better?" She asks. "Better," I confirm. She puts her obsidian sword in its leather sheath that lies on her back and paces to the window. She puts a thumbs up with a confused look. I return the thumbs up, but give her a more determined look. She smirks again and pops open the window silently. She grabs my hand the pulls me out the window, jumps onto the roof of a brown house. She lets go of my hand and sprints, jumping from roof to roof. Me, following her because of the fact that she's the one with the plan.

We end up in an alley, shifting away from the sights of guards and closer to the gates. She jumps, I jump. She sprints, I sprint. She ducks out of view, I duck out of view. So-on so-forth, and by the time we jump out of view one more time, we arrive at the gates. Shadow shape-shifts into her wolf form, the large black wolf, and starts to dig a small hole, but big enough for us to fit through. After digging for about ten seconds, she shape-shifts back to normal and slides through the hole, with me sliding in after her. Once on the other side, we make a bee-line straight for Acorntop, or so I think...

Shadow's POV

After making our grand escape, I sprint off for my village. The village once in its time beautiful, until the day it burnt to the ground by a village we had a conflict with. Holding a girl, once in her time, just as beautiful. That girl... Was me. After the day of the deaths of many, I grew older till how I am now. 23 years old, running for her life. No village, no friends, and no family to help her. That is until she came across Acorntop guards. Mistaking them for Rosewoods. She was taken in, healed, repaired and sent back out to start rinsing and repeating. Im snapped out of my trance by Danny. "Shadow... Break... Where... Going...?" He sputters out, taking in large breaths of air. "Oh, sorry, umm... Y-You'll see..." I flip my hair a bit. "Lies." He chuckles. "H-How so?" I throw a look over my shoulder at him before spinning around. "You always flip your hair when you lie." He smirks. Crap, he knows me all too well. "A-Alright... I decided we could head back to my village and maybe... Rebuild... It?" Is all I can get out before falling to the ground in a sit, pushing my head into my heads. "Now that I say it out loud, it sounds so dumb," I mumble into my hands. Danny jogs over to me, crouches down, and places his hand on my back, rubbing it for comfort. "It's fine, we can TRY to rebuild it if you wish." I smile and look up at him, moving my face from my hands. Danny stands and holds his hand down for me to take. I don't hesitate to grab his hand and so he pulls me up. I growled playfully, "Race you to Cherrymore!" and take off. "Hey!" Danny shouts, "Unfair!"

After a while, we decided to just jog, walk, and talk. "You really did that?!" I crack up. "You betcha!" He chuckles. I start storytelling again, "Well I..." but stop when I look forward and see the ruins of my village, all where I remember them. Some things salvaged from passers, other things, just as broken as I saw them last. Tears well in my eyes at the sight, flashbacks playing in my head like flipping paper. "Shadow... It's ok... Shall we start building?" He looks at me with concern. "Y-Yes, we shall." I smile and sniff.

TWO DAYS LATER

Danny's POV

I huff as I haul a piece of wood to the side of the last house in the village. While I took care of the houses and guard towers, Shadow took care of the plaza and the Lord's meeting area. 'Lord's meeting area' essentially meaning a place where lord travelers can discuss with Lord Shadow. Yes, LORD Shadow. I insisted she became the lord of her own village, after all, she was the lord's daughter.

"S-So?" Shadow huffs, out of breath. "The last h-house, done!" I exclaim, out of breath myself. She smiles and nods, running back to the plaza area. I run off in the guard tower direction. I pull my backpack off my back and pull small daggers and swords from it, setting them on weapon shelves. I grab some armor, helmets, chest plates, boots, and pants. I head to the blacksmiths building and set down some diamond on an anvil. I pick up a stone hammer and slam it into the diamond, flattening it. I do this a few more times until I get the right kind of sword I want. I take the blade and set it on a table nearby to make the handle.

IN ACORNTOP

Aaren's POV

I sprint to Lord Sylvie's house in a huge rush. "L-Lord Sylvie!" I exclaim, breaking the door down off its hinges. "AH! Aaren!? Whats wrong?!" I gasp for air, "I-I uh- I..." Lord Sylvie grabs a glass of water and hands it to me. "Catch your breath," Sylv says. "I need to understand what you are saying." I chug down the water quickly, then set it down on the table. "Ok, so explain." I nod. "I just got a letter, a letter from Raven..." I get cut off by Sylv. "RAVEN?! RAVEN AS IN SHADOW'S WYVERN RAVEN?! What was he doing back here?!" The shouting attracts Travis and Victor. "Whats happening?!" Victor asks. "We got a letter from Raven. Yes, Shadow's pet Raven." I say, staying calm. "Well do you have it?! We haven't heard from her in a long while!" Travis overreacts. I sigh and pull the note from my pocket. "It reads..." I clear my throat.

"Dear Lord Sylvie and her guards,

I have made it back to my village, Cherrymore. I am currently with my friend, Danny, and we are rebuilding Cherry. I am the lord of my village for the first time and Sylv, I can see the responsibility a mile away. If you wish to talk, from where you guys are in your village, you go west. On foot, it could be a day and a half, but by boat or horse, it could be a bit less than that, not even a day. I can imagine you guys were worried, in fact, I could feel it, so I am sending you this.

P.S. I wish to meet you all soon ~ Danny

                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                 Shadow Wagner."

I was so into reading the letter, I didn't realize Loyd, Scott, Xander, and Gabriel come in. "SHE WHAT?!" Xander, Gabe, and Victor all shout. "I don't even know..." I sigh, completely and utterly confused. "Well?! What are we waiting for?! Let's go!" Travis exclaims, almost too happy for my liking. "I'll get Margaret to watch over the village. It's not the first time we've gone out to speak with a lord before." Sylvie turns and walks to the basement to talk with Margaret in the potion room. I smile. I can't help but smile. Shadow's ok, everything's fine. Hold on... Didn't she say she was with another person? Danny... Was it? I feel anger build in my body. Not just any anger, jealousy. I can feel it coming off Travis, Xander, and Gabriel as well. A slight bit from Loyd and Scott, but not nearly as much as the other three. My fox scenes help a whole lot when determining feelings. "Let's head out." Lord Sylvie says nonchalantly, picking up her silver bow and golden arrows. Our anger melts away to keep up our happy feel.

"Let's go see Shadow!"
