"Imagine: Jack Rackham always hitting on you at the tavern, even when there were other women he could have went for"
--
The taverns air was heavy and thick with the smell of ale and smoke, but you could care less. Spending your nights at the tavern always seemed to have relaxed you and lightened your mood, even if you had to put up with some of the drunken patrons. You had made a few friends there, and there was this one friend that seemed to adore you more than the others. Jack Rackham was his name, or better known as Calico Jack.
You had heard stories of him being merciful, and a rouge that terrorized everyone in Nassau. But to you, he seemed like a companion, until he began to compliment you, and follow you around the pirate republic. You didn't mind his attention though, it seemed to be nice considering most days you were all by your lonesome. He added a bit more excitement into the tavern. Whenever he began to be a flirt, you simply played along and watched what he would do.
As you took your place at the counter of the tavern, you ordered your usual ale and stood there drinking it quietly. The small band was singing some sea shanties, and a few drunken pirates were already dancing around them. When you were looking at the group, you felt someone stand next to you and slam a bit of coin on the counter.
"A bit of rum for me; and uh, some ale for the miss."
The man ordered, and you already new who it was before you turned to meet him.
Jack Rackham.
"Rackham." You greeted, looking at him with a sly smile across your lips.
"(Y/N)" he said back, mocking your tone. When the music began to die down, the bartender arrived with your drinks.
Rackham grabbed the bottle of rum almost lazily, and pushed the tankard of ale close to you.
"Why thank you, Rackham." You said as you finished off your first tankard and grabbed on to the second.
A few moments were spent in silence, as the two of you were watching the pirates dancing to the violins and fifes.
"So," Rackham began, taking a swing from his bottle "why is it that you come here so often?"
You were looking at the musical group as you started to answer his question.
"Well, the same thing that brings you here, something good to drink, and the good company."
"Aye," he commented "and don't forget the fights... It's always different to see some one as decent as you here in Nassau. You seem, different, from..."
He paused before continuing, thinking of what to say next.
"the common whore." You finished.
It was true, most of the women on the island made their coin through the pleasing of men, and women that didn't work in brothels were often hard to see in Nassau. It was likely that a man saw the same woman more than once in a day, especially if she was a prostitute.
"Yes, well, uh," he seemed a little embarrased "it's always good to see a nice looking woman down here, in Nassau."
"Indeed." You agreed.

By the time the sun had one down, the small tavern was crowded and loud. You and Jack still stood at the bar, but by this time Jack was long past sober, and so were you. You were laughing at the slightest things, and once Jack caught you laughing, he couldn't stop either.
"Jaysus," he said, his voice slurred "who would've figured a pretty lass like you would end up 'ere. Sort of a miracle it is, aye."
You response was laughter, and that was the only thing you could remember before the two of you knocked out.
When you woke up you found the two of you were sitting at a table, slouched over sleeping. You weren't the only ones, however. Groups of drunken pirates littered the floor, and when you rose you had a surging pain in your head. Looking to see if your partner was in the same condition as you, you quietly got up.
He was sleeping with his head down, and his unmanageable hair was all over the place.
Deciding it was best to let him sleep, you began to walk away, but his hand on your wrist stopped you in your tracks. You looked at him expecting an explanation, but you only received a farewell.
"See ya' later, sweet'art." He said, before smiling and drifting back into sleep.
