Not Dreams, Reality

Chapter 1, is he okay?

Cory's POV

It's been a month since Adam has started acting weird. He forgot a bunch of important things we told him, he's being a lot more quiet then usual, and he won't even tell us what's bothering him! He even asked me the other day how we met! how could he forget all of us being friends since we were kids?! At first, only Jin noticed but we thought he was just worrying about nothing. Then Shelby, Jess, and Ross noticed. Then Red and I noticed. Then Barney and Max noticed.

Every time we ask him about it he says the same exact thing. "Don't worry about it! I'm fine! I just had a weird dream..." but he always trails off at the end and never sounds confident that that's the truth. It's odd. Sometimes he'll sneak off outside and we'll try to follow him but the moment he leaves the house we lose track of him. Unless he somehow grew bird wings and flew away, which is impossible, I don't know how he could of left so quickly or where he could've gone! I just hope he's okay and knows he can tell us about whatever's bugging him.

Adam's POV

OW.

Flying is a lot harder now than it was in the dream! This is the third time this week I flew straight into a lamppost! Ugh! I sit down on the ground so this stupid headache doesn't make me fall over and I rub my head where I hit it. Yep, that's going to leave a bruise and cause a whole lot of questions. I would say "Good thing no one saw me flying!" because they didn't but they did, however, see me hit my head on the lamppost so now I'm getting a lot of weird looks that are making me blush in embarrassment. I stand up and walk away from there without muttering a word.

I'm still extremely confused though. That dream seemed so real and I have the same power I had in the dream but it was a dream so how do I have that power in the first place?! I can't tell what's real and what's not anymore! Cory says that me, him, and all the others have been friends since we were kids but if that's true then what was with the whole being born from gems thingy? If Shelby and Cory really were brainwashed then how are they here, perfectly fine? Or an even better question, did Jin die or was that part of the dream too?! Ugh! This is making my head hurt! And I don't think the headache is helping any!

On the way back home I start to get this bad feeling. I feel like someone's watching me and something bad's going to happen but there's no one else here! This is the same feeling I felt and ignored when we met Seto and Brice... who even are Seto and Brice anyways? I don't think I made them up in my mind but the others have never heard of them before! Maybe that wasn't a dream. Maybe it was some type of- OW! Seriously?! I walked straight into a tree! "I really need to focus on where I'm walking..." I say to myself and sigh before continuing the walk home. I thought I heard someone chuckle and say something which makes me hesitate but it was barely audible so I shrug it off thinking that maybe I'm just imagining it.

"If you're going to survive what's ahead, you need to be more careful!"
