Chapter 6, Believe or Doubt?

Jin's POV

I've been practicing my new powers a lot lately, by myself of course, and I think I'm getting the hang of it! I can control water a little bit but I'm not that good at it. My main power seems to be to act like a ghost and walk through walls. I can even turn invisible! It's awesome! I scared Barney so much the other day!

I can't help but get a bad feeling though. We've been here about a week and I didn't start having this feeling until our third day, though it's obvious Adam has had a bad feeling since day 1 here. Barney and Max are getting training lessons from the guards, Red, Adam, and Ross are exploring the town, Shelby is hanging out with Nova while Cory desperately tries to get her attention and fails, and Jess keeps following that guy she likes around. Meanwhile, I'm sitting down on the base of the statue of Nova and Star's ancestor. Something about her seemed familiar, something about this statue said I should leave, but why should I? Most of the others seem to like it here, especially the girls. Plus, they haven't tried to do anything to us so we have no reason to be suspicious, right?

I sigh and close my eyes for a little bit only to find myself in some sort of dream. I see Adam holding a sword and running at the lady from the statue. He successfully attacks her then they both fall down. The lady just seemed to lay there which made it obvious what happened. Adam, however, and all of the others which I just noticed were here, turned into a colorful ghost and ran off. I followed Adam's bright yellow ghost and saw the ghost stop at a house far away from where we just were. He walks inside, then walks back out with a baby in his arms. The strange thing is that the baby looked a lot like Adam. They even had the same eyes and hair! Then, the ghost seemed to possess the baby or something. The child fell asleep, transformed into a gem, and floated away on the wind as in the gemstone was as light as a feather. I walked around for a while only to find something similar happening nearby. Barney and Red's green and red ghosts were holding baby versions of themselves. Then they possessed the babies, the babies fell asleep, and they transformed into gems. However, now something different happened. The earth seemed to momentarily open to swallow up the green gemstone that was the baby Barney was holding while lightning strikes the red gemstone and it suddenly disappeared.

I woke up to Cory shaking me, he looks panicked. "Hey Cory, what's wrong?" I asked sleepily, yawning in the middle of my question. "I need to tell you guys something!" He says hurriedly and starts dragging me away to a room inside the mini castle where the others were waiting.

Once everyone was here Cory started to explain what was panicking him. "I was following Nova around when he went into a secret room and locked the door. I put my ear against the door and heard him and someone else talking. It sounded like they were plotting against us! They started to laugh evilly so I booked it out of there and instantly got you guys!"

I looked around at the others. They all had either looks of confusion or looks of disapproval in their eyes. I didn't know what to believe though. It does seem like a bit of a weird story but there's also that chance it could be true...

Should we believe him?
