Jen's POV

----------

"There you two are!" Francis exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air. "Where on earth were you two? Are you aware how late you are?! We all have been waiting for the two of you! You do realize we can't start filming without the main characters, don't you?!"

I've never seen Francis so outraged. But then again, no one I know of showed up to set over an hour late and kept their job. Francis stood there staring at us, looking absolutely furious. He stopped scolding, so I realized it was our time to answer.

"I'm so sorry Francis. My iPhone uh... broke, and I didn't have an alarm to wake me up." I began, risking a quick glance at Josh.

We exchanged a look that said 'we have to lie', and I made up a story of how Josh and I came to the point of carpooling. If people found out we slept in the same bed, our careers and pride would end in a snap.

"Since I didn't have an alarm, I ended up sleeping in about a half hour late. That's when Josh called me to say hi-"

"Wait a minute," Francis interrupted, "how did Josh call you if your iPhone was broken?"

Oh shit. I just blew it. Suddenly, Josh spoke.

"There was a phone in her hotel room and she gave me the number a couple days ago."

Francis seemed satisfied with his answer. I could tell he was slightly suspicious, but he let us off the hook with a warning, telling us to get into costume, hair, and makeup. We nodded our heads and ran off, everyones' eyes following us.

"Thanks for saving our butts. I don't know what I would've said if you hadn't saved me there." I whispered.

"No problem. Now who's at a loss for words?" He smirked back.

I rolled my eyes and playfully slapped him on the arm. I then sat down and a lady holding a comb came over to me.

"Your hair always surprises me." She muttered, her eyes widening.

"That bad, huh?" I laughed.

She didn't reply. Instead, she grabbed a a small chunk of hair and drove the comb through it. I winced as I felt a sharp pain shoot up to my scalp.

"It wouldn't hurt if you'd just comb it out thoroughly." She said, rolling her eyes.

"Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?" I snapped back, trying to hide my annoyance that was shining through my facade.

The lady murmured a few things under her breath, but I didn't catch any of them. My mind was somewhere else. Knowing how long it takes to get ready to film, I stared off into my own little world. I have at least 30 minutes until she'll be done with my hair and makeup. No sweat. I remembered my time with Josh. The way he was so comforting and sweet. The way he looked at me. The way he stayed with me. I smiled to myself.

"Someone's happy." A sweet, casual, somewhat distant voice said.

Wait a second, I know that voice. I'd recognize that voice anywhere. It was the beautifully manly voice of none other than Josh. I was immediately snapped out of my thoughts.

"Earth to Jen..." He said.

"Oh hey Josh." I grinned, trying to sound casual.

Apparently, it didn't work. Josh raised his right eyebrow. Damn, everyone can do that except me.

"How did you do that?" I asked curiously.

"What, this?" He replied, lifting his eyebrow again.

A huge smirk was plastered on his painted face.

"No, juggle pins." I responded sarcastically.

"Oh, I don't know how to do that."

His smirk just grew larger. A smile broke out across my face.

"Touché."

With that, we burst out laughing. The lady doing my hair started yelling at me.

"STOP LAUGHING YOU'RE MESSING UP MY WORK!"

"Aww c'mon Grumpy, have a heart." I joked.

Josh stifled a laugh, not wanting to get yelled at by the lady doing his makeup. The lady doing my hair scoffed and muttered something about "ungrateful brats."

Josh and I were silent for the rest of the time. Neither of us dared to even smile. We didn't want to risk getting yelled at and possibly fired. Finally, after what felt like ages, the lady had finished doing my hair and makeup. She then handed me my costume. I hopped off the chair and passed by Josh. He was still getting his face painted to look as if his face was smeared with blood. I felt bad that I'd be leaving him alone with the two divas, but I also couldn't wait to join the rest of the cast. I stepped into the changing room and changed into my costume. Once I was done, I skipped out happily.

"See ya sucka." I teased Josh as I passed him.

He rolled his eyes jokingly, and I skipped off to join the rest of my friends on set.
