Jen's POV:
----------
"Hurry up, Jen, we gotta go!"
"Why do I have to go to your family's reunion? I'm not a part of your family."
"Of course you are. My family and I love you to death. You know they get excited whenever you come."
"Fine I'll go. But we can't tell them about us."
"Why not? They'll love it."
"Yeah but it's too early. We can tell them another time. I promise."
"Whatever the Princess wants."
"I told you to stop calling me that. It sounds weird."
Josh chuckled before planting a kiss on my cheek.
--------------------
"Jen, it's so great to see you again!" exclaimed Josh's mom, enveloping me in a hug.
"Thanks, it's great to see you too!" I replied.
"There's our boy!" Josh's mom yelled happily.
Within seconds, a crowd of relatives had joined Josh's mom. They were practically suffocating him in hugs and kisses. I couldn't help laughing. Eventually, the crowd parted and Josh resurfaced. He jogged over to me, his brother Connor following.
"Hey Jen."
"Oh hey Connor. How's it going?"
"Good I guess. But not as good as Josh has it. My big brother got a girlfriend!"
Connor slapped Josh on the back playfully. What?! He knows we're dating?! Josh! He must've told him! Or maybe Connor just figured it out himself... Are we really being that obvious? I took a cautious step away from Josh. Hopefully no one else will think we're dating.
"So where's Brittany?" he asked.
I looked at Josh in disbelief. His face fell.
"Yeah, Josh. Where IS Brittany?"
I folded my arms in front of my chest and stared at Josh. I could practically feel my face changing color.
"Yeah, you should meet the girl. I wish I could meet her. Josh says she's smart, funny, and super hot," he turned to Josh. "So when are you gonna introduce me to her?"
Josh was silently pleading Connor to shut up. I felt tears well up in my eyes.
"Ugh! You jackass! I can't believe you!" I screamed, running to the car.
I could faintly hear Josh's footsteps behind me.
"Jen, wait! It's not what you think! It really isn't!"
I ignored him and continued running. Determined to escape, I yanked open the car door, got in, slammed it shut behind me, and locked the doors. I shoved the key in the ignition and began to drive. Tears were cascading down my face, but I didn't care. I carelessly wiped at my eyes with my arm. Before long, my face was more drenched in tears than it had been before. I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, I hate him.
