chapter four ; awkward

“Why are you so loud? He can’t talk so that might mean you shouldn’t be talking either?” She says confused.

I scratch the back of my head nervously. “About that… Summer, meet the guy you rec-“

“I can’t believe you didn’t know it was me! I thought you loved me today, Summer!” He cuts me off, dramatically placing his hand on his chest.

“Wha-“ Summer starts.

“Summer meet Zach also known as Graser. Blah blah blah, okay. Who wants pizza?” I ask.

“Me! Me!” Zach screams.

“Okay, let’s go!” I pull him downstairs, leaving my sister still stunned.

I laugh. “We’re such mean people! We’re bullies! We just left her there, she didn’t even get to say anything!”

Zach just laughs on the couch, with tears in his eyes and clutching his stomach. Can he still even breathe?

I shake my head and just let him continue laughing there while I ordered pizza. Summer went down while I was doing that, still looking as confused as ever.

“You’re really Graser? Seriously?” She asks.

“Yeah, do you not hear it in my voice?”

“B-but, you’re not ugly! Everyone said you’re ugly!”

“Yeah, 'cause everyone saw my face.” He says sarcastically. “Autumn is actually the first one to know about this. Not even Liam or Mike knows how I look like.”

“You little shit. You lied to me!”

“Yeah, dude. Hey, Autumn, when’s the pizza coming?” He asks me.

“At 6:45, it’ll be here.” I plop down on the sofa beside him while Summer stands there, studying us for what feels like an hour but it was actually just a minute.

“You two would make a good couple. Is it weird that I ship my twin sister with one of my best friends?”

My heads snaps up to her then to Zach. When I met his eyes, I suddenly start to blush then look away.

“See what I mean? This ship will totally float, I swear.” She smirks.

Summer totally made things super awkward. I can’t even look at Zach anymore! I can feel him staring at me though, with a smirk on his face. He probably thinks I’m crushing on him! This is so embarrassing.

A few more awkward minutes later, the doorbell rings. Just as I was gonna stand up, Summer speaks.

“Oh! I’ll get it. Stay here.” I frown at her and she just winks at me. She winked!

Zach clears his throat. “So, what flavor did you order?”

I finally look at him. “Just cheese! It’s the best.” I smile.

He looks at me and beams as well. “Any pizza is the best!”

Summer comes back with the pizza then smirks, again, when she sees us. “I see you two agree with my statement! Just date already!”

“Please shut up…” I groan.

“Yeah! Let’s eat!” Zach screams.

We all ate our pizza while having a great time. Summer didn’t bring up the topic at all and nothing’s awkward between Zach and I anymore. When it was 8:30, he had to leave.

“Hey, I gots to go.”

“Oh, alright. Autumn, bring him to the door. I’m going up.” My sister yawns.

I bring Zach outside and ask him to text me when he gets home. 

“Yeah. Oh and Autumn? Think about Summer’s offer.” He smiles then walks away. What’s that supposed to mean?
