chapter five ; recording

I lay down in bed that night thinking about what Zach meant.

Think about Summer’s offer.

My sister’s offer? Of us dating? But we’ve known each other for a day! Maybe he meant for the future? Yeah, that’s got to be it. Right? Maybe I’m just assuming things.

I sigh and then just fell into deep sleep.

“Autumn! Wake the hell up! Autumn!”

My blanket got yanked away from me and I groan.

“Autumn, did you know that Zach fucking woke me up because you weren’t there for the recording?” My sister said sweetly.

“What time is it?” I yawn.

“8:45! Graser’s called me 20 times already! Get your lazy ass out of bed right now! Don’t you dare disturb me, I’m going back to sleep.” She yells, going out of my room. I suddenly panic, Zach was waiting for me for 45 minutes!

I run to my computer and log on to Skype. While that was loading up, I got my phone to find out that it had no more battery. Zach called me right away and I answered without video.

“Crap! I’m so sorry! Oh my god! My phone died and it didn’t put off an alarm! I totally just wasted you time!” I say.

“Jeez, it’s no problem.”

“But, you called Summer 20 times! That’s a problem! You probably have something to do!”

“No, I called twice. One to ask if you were awake and the other to ask if she wanted to record instead. I thought you didn’t want to record with me anymore.”

“Why would I do that? Of course I wanna record with you! You’re hilarious!”

“Thanks, no one compliments me these days.” He laughs. “Yeah, anyways, shall we record your first Cube episode after MCSG?”

“Yes! So I’m officially on the Cube?”

“Yup. Should we start? I’m on lobby 24, the game’s starting soon.”

I got in my Minecraft, MCSG and went to wherever Zach was.

“I’m here!”

I know how Zach does his games. 10 seconds before the game starts, that’s when he does the intro. He also has this thing called the “Silent Treatment” which I’m doing to him here. I’m evil like that.

“Right, call me Graser please, not Zach. No swearing, either. We don’t want 10 year old scolding us.”

“Okay, Graser.” I tease. “Your video first or mine?”

“Yours first. Let’s see if we can get yours on the first try.”

I went and clicked the record button right when we went in the game.

“Holiday Resort? Aw.” I complain. “But, hey. I’m not going for corn.”

“Should I follow you?”

“You should do your thing, just don’t die. I want us both in deathmatch!”

“Oh! Sh! 20 seconds! Do it at 10!”

5 more seconds pass then I start the intro.

“Hey you guys! Today I’m playing in the light house with none other than myself!”

“No you’re not!” Graser shouts.

“What was that? Did you guys hear something?”

“Hey!” He laughs. “Guess who?”

I sprint off to the direction of the beach where I always get the tier 2.

“They probably know from the thumbnail, man. And your laugh.”

“What about my laugh?”

“Everyone knows your laugh.”

He laughs. He always does. “Where are you? I got 2 boots from spawn, that’s it.”

“I’m going to the air field.”

“Where’s that?”

I fake gasp. “You don’t know where the air field is? It’s above the beach!”

“Nope. I’ll try to meet you there.”

“Alright.” I say, getting all the chests in the area.

After a while, I got me a diamond, decent armor and an iron sword.

“Oh! No! Someone’s killing me! Save me, Autumn. I’m at the balloons!”

“Shoot. I’m coming.”

“Half a heart! Half a heart!”

I found him being chased by a guy with a wooden axe. I laughed.

“Graser, he has a wood axe and a leather helmet!” I say, hitting the guy with my iron sword and end up killing him. “Oh! I can make a diamond sword.”

“I had an axe too! Here take these boots. Let’s go!”

“Wait! I have stuff too!” I drop a stone sword, a bow, arrows, a fishing rod and iron pants for him. “What are your hearts at?”

“Thanks and I’m at 3 and a half.” He answers. “Woah! Watch out, watch out!”

I turn around and see a team of 2 ready to attack me. “Run! I’ll get them.”

I get the first guy in fire then sworded him. The other one ran to the ocean and it gave me the chance to bow him. In the end, they both got me to 1 heart, full iron and 4 diamonds.

“How’d you do that?!”

“What?”

“You killed both of them!”

“Yeah… let’s go to the crafting table. I need to make diamond boots.” I run to the table down the beach and actually crafted a 2 swords.

“Are you serious? You made boots?”

I laughed hard. “Here.” I toss the diamond sword to him along with some more armor.

“I thought you made boots. I got a bit worried there.” Graser laughs.

“Of course not, I want us to win!”

In the end, I beat Graser because he was ‘making it easy for me’ since it was my first video with him. Psh. He’s just bad. We didn’t get a recording since he was killed off of spawn 3 times in a row, fell into the void on one, drowned on the other, fell in to a lava trap and used an ender pearl when he had 2 hearts. And of course, I had to go back to the hub for it. He says he’ll just make a fail montage of all of those so I could edit, upload then go to work.
