Cassadee's POV

The sunlight beamed in from the window next to my bed forcing me to pry my eyes open. I stretched my arms out, Tate's arm slipping off of my waist. I turned my body to face his. His eyes opened as I stared at him, waiting for him to wake up. I shyly grinned at him and he grinned back, "Good morning" I whispered softly. "I thought you had school?" He said quietly as he looked at me confused. "Well, I told my mom I was sick the other day and she said I could have the rest of the week off." I smiled

"More us time, right?" He asked as he kissed my nose.

"Yep." I kissed his nose back. His smile went away as he rubbed the now faded bruises on my cheeks with a concerned look on his face.

"I'm really sorry. I should've gotten there earlier" He wrapped his arm around me, attempting to give me a hug as we laid beside each other. I smiled, "It's not your fault."

There was silence, all you could here was the black mini fan running beside my bed.

"Who was he?" Tate turned to me, practically hovering over me.

"I'm not sure, probably one of mom's boyfriends."

"And you didn't know him? You've never seen him before?"

"I have once, a long time ago. Mom used to have him come over every once and a while so they could 'secretly' smoke weed in the bathroom, it was no surprise when I walked into the bathroom and I found them sucking faces. I knew he was a creep, I just didn't know he would actually do something."

Tate got an irritated look on his face, "That asshole better not come back or I swear to god, he will wish he was dead."

I giggled at his protectiveness and formed a serious look "Thank you, so much. No one has ever cared about me that much before."

He smirked sweetly and laid back down, staring at the ceiling. I positioned myself to lay my head on his chest. "No, at the top of our lungs, there's no, no such thing as too young-" I hummed to myself as I twirled my finger in circles on his stomach and he joined in.

"Second chances won't leave you alone-"

"'Cause there's faith in love."

I smiled up at him and he grinned back down at me. "I wish we could stay like this forever." I half smiled. He sat up to sit against my bed frame and I followed, sitting beside him. We sat in silence again, hearing only birds chirping outside and the fan. I turned my face to his and gently tapped him on the cheek playfully. He giggled. I enjoyed the quiet but he soon turned his body to face mine.

He spoke softly, "Did you mean what you said last night?" I ignored his question and he sighed with disappointment "I knew it." He boosted his body up from the bed with his hands and began to slowly pace, looking down at his feet.

"Tate," I pushed myself onto the edge of the bed and grabbed his hand. My heart skipped a beat when our fingertips touched-- it was completely different this time.

"I never say anything I don't mean or feel, I meant it. I was just too afraid to show it. I love you" I smiled sweetly, blushing uncontrollably.

Tate leaned into my face and our eyes met. I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. Before he got closer, we both heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. Tate jumped back and I mouthed my words, 'Hide'. Tate did as I said and leaped to my closet. I sat on my bed, grabbed the nearest book that sat on my nightstand, and pretended to read. The door creaked open and my heart began to race in fear. "Cassy?" It was my mom, thankfully.

"Yeah?" I invited.

"How are you? Any better?" She looked at me concerned. I glared at her in confusion and I suddenly remembered what she was talking about.

"Oh! Yeah. A little." I half smiled at her.

She grinned at me, "There's a girl that's around your age who just moved in across the street right when we did. I want you to go say 'hi' and introduce yourself. You could use a friend, you know?" I internally groaned but put on a fake smile, "Of course. I'll leave in a second, let me get ready." She formed a huge grin and nodded, walking away from my door frame and down the hall.

I sighed. Tate popped back in front of me and plopped onto the bed. "Do you have to go?" His face saddened with puppy dog eyes. "Yesss. I'm sowwy. I'll be quick, I promise." I lightly kissed him on the cheek and walked over to my dresser, grabbing skinny jeans and a green oversized hoodie. I skipped over to my bathroom and changed quickly.

~~Skip to the girls front door~~

I wrapped my arms around myself after I rang the door bell. The chilly fall air blew my hair into my face. I waited for a few moments and suddenly a girl opened the door. She had blonde hair, light blue eyes, and a perfect face, looking around my age. "Who are you?" Great, a snobby bitch. Here goes nothing.

"My name is Cassadee, I live across the street."

She looked at me in slight disgust.

I hissed, "Look, we're supposed to be friends okay? My mom made me come over here and introduce myself. So either you can act like my friend and you wont have to deal with me often, or you can be a bitch and see a whole lot more of me because my mother will insist I come over here everyday to try to 'reason'. Trust me, at this point, i dont like the second option very much either. Okay?"

She slightly widened her eyes and fixed her hips to lean to one side, putting her hand on her waist.

"Fine." She rolled her eyes. "So am I like, going over to your house to play dollies or something?" She whipped her hair over one shoulder.

"Jesus Christ." I mumbled to myself. "No, you just have to stay for a moment. Just so my mom thinks we're friends." I rolled my eyes back at her.

She looked at me for a second, I could tell she was thinking about it. "Fine. Only for an hour." "Whatever." I falsely smiled at her with attitude. She walked out into the bright afternoon sunlight and we walked back across the street to my house.

~~Skip to the kitchen with Cassadee's mom(I'm lazy today cx)~~

"Hello there! You must be..." My mom looked at her with cheerful eyes and a broad smile. "Tessa. You can call me Tess." She smiled back at her. "Nice to meet you." My mom walked over to her and shook her hand, I noticed her finger nails were painted light sky blue--typical.

I also noticed a beautiful black diamond shaped as a lightening bolt on a silver ring, she wore it on her middle finger. I began to envy the way she looked.

She was gorgeous, I'm not pretty enough to even compare. I brushed it off as she turned to me. "Where's your room?" She looked at me with the same malicious look on her face that she gave me before. I ignored her expression and guided her up to my bedroom.

We walked in and I closed the door behind us. She looked around my bedroom. I knew she wouldn't have liked it, the walls filled with posters of different music artists and black everything; bed sheets, curtains, ect.

"Nice..." She spoke with sarcasm. I saw her spin around in the corner of my eye but I kept my glare out the window.

"Hey." She spoke with a high pitched, bubbly voice. I turned around and Tate stood in the door way.

"You have a pretty hot brother." She whispered loudly to me, purposely letting him hear.

Fuck.

((I know, I know. Incredibly long, right? Sorrrrry!! cx))
