Tate's POV

I heard Cassy's voice echo throughout the hall way as I quickly walked down the dim halls and twisted into her bedroom.

A girl with long blonde hair and pale skin stood beside Cassadee as she was turned to the window. "Hey" The blonde girl smiled at me brightly, I assumed she was the girl who moved in across the street.

Cassadee spun around and I faintly heard the girl mumble in her ear,  "You have a pretty hot brother"

The girl wasn't bad looking at all.

Actually, damn.

But I can't do that to Cassadee, she means too much to me.

"Hey..." Cassadee spoke awkwardly, as if she knew what I was thinking.

"Hey" I slightly smiled at the girl. I caught Cassadee looking at the small smile I gave the blonde.

"Tate, this is Tessa...Tessa, this is Tate." She muttered slowly, nervously.

"Hello Tate" She winked flirtingly. I heard Cassadee quietly sigh.

"Hi" I fixed my tone with the girl, I didn't want to act so obvious; and I didn't want to hurt Cassy-- but that seemed too late. "I-I'll be right back." Cassadee stuttered as she stumbled out of the room. I didn't hear her go down the stairs but I assumed she did. I wanted to go with her, to make sure she didn't do anything stupid but someone yanked on my hand before I could even reach the door frame.

I turned my head to see who it was but someone crashed into my lips. I peaked my eyes open to see who it was; of course it was Tessa.

I grasped her upper arms and attempted to pull her off of me.

"I knew it..." I heard a faint familiar voice behind me. I pushed Tessa off and spun around. I was unexpected as to who it really was. Violet and Cassy stood in the door frame; Cassadee with tears in her eyes and Violet with an evil grin across her face. Violet giggled to herself,

"Damn. Already moved on to another girl?" A broken bowl in pieces sprawled across the floor with water soaked in the light brown carpeting, causing it to turn a darker color where the water was intact. Cassy's cheeks were bright red, tears streaming down them. Violet's expression changed as she saw how hurt Cassadee was. "It'll be okay" She mumbled to her but Cassadee pushed her away gently and ran down the stairs. I heard the front door slam shut as it echoed throughout the house.

Tessa growled, "What the fuck is this?!"

"Get out!" I demanded loudly.

Tessa ran out of the room and I heard the front door slam shut once again.

"It's your fault!" I glared at Violet with a menacing look on my face.

"That she found out? I saw her crying in the hallway, where the fuck were you Tate?! She wanted to see you but I guess we caught you at the right time."

I fell to the floor and began to cry; I fucked it up again. She wont forgive me this time, I know it. "Please find her Violet, please!" I cried but Violet let out a heavy huff, "She left. I can't leave, remember?"

Cassadee's POV

I stammered down the quiet evening streets with tears still falling freely from my eyes. I had that sick-to-the-stomach heartbroken feeling. I felt like I could fall to the ground at any moment and just die. I continued to walk slowly down the silent road. The outdoor house lights and yard lights flickered on as it got darker but I didn't care, I didn't want to go back into that house, I didn't want to see Tate. He completely crossed the line this time and I feel like I'll never be able to trust him again.

Suddenly, I heard someone yell across the street. I figured it was someone from my house, calling for me--considering I wasn't too far from it just yet. But they yelled again and it didn't have a familiar tone, and they were closer.

"What are you doing out here at this time? It's not good to be alone and weak if its almost 9 o' clock at night. That's when the creepers come out, you know?" A old-ish lady grabbed my arm and hurried me to her house. We walked in through the front door and she sat me down on a soft leather couch in, what I assumed, was the living room. The lady walked to the kitchen and walked back into the living room, sitting down on the couch next to me. The house smelled like cinnamon and strong musk, the lighting dimmed slightly, and little family picture frames sat along the old fireplace.

"Are you okay, Honey?" She passed me a tissue from the purple Kleenex box sitting on the coffee table in front of us. I took it from her hand politely and dabbed it along my cheeks and under my eyes. "I guess. It's just stupid boy problems." I sniffled. The woman didn't seem like the kind that would bake you cookies every time you came over, she seemed like the tough motherly type-- one that would assure there weren't any nasty boys fucking with your emotions. I looked around the room once more, attempting to get more comfortable. This was definitely better than my house, a little more cheerful and... old lady-ish. As I scanned through each room that was visible, my heart dropped as I laid eyes on the old picture frame that sat across the room on the old kitchen counter.

Maybe my eyes were just bad, but it looked like

Tate.

((The picture is Tessa cx))
