My phone buzzed on my night stand, creating a loud annoying noise that blared throught my room. I grabbed it and felt it vibrate in my hands as I glared at the beaming bright that was fixated on my face. The voicemail sign flashed consistantly in the left corner of the screen. I unlocked my phone and tapped on the voicemail icon.

"One new voicemail" A robotic female voice sounded into my ear and it switched to a beep, "Hey, Cassadee," There was a small giggle in the teenage boy's voice, "It's Joshua. I don't know if you remember me, 5th grade, yada, anyways; I found your number in my contacts and I figured I would give you a call! Call or text me back, bye bye!" The beep went off once again and switched back to the females voice, "End of voicemails"

My stomach trobbed and I threw my phone onto my bed in disbelief, leaving my hand in the same position for a moment. After I sat staring at the IPhone that lay flat facedown on my sheets, I picked it up for one last reassurance. "Oh my god,"

"OH MY GOD!"

I jumped up from my bed and ran out of my room and down the stairs

"MOM" I choked a little,

"What?!" Her voiced pitched in concern and her eyes glistened as they widened.

"JOSH! JOSH, JOSH, FIFTH GRADE JOSHUA!"

"What about him?!" She smiled brightly and walked a few inches over to me

"He sent me a voicemail!!! He said he found my number in his contacts and that I should call him!!" I cheered and jumped up and down. Joshua was the boy in the pictures taped on my mirror, in memory of our friendship, my only real friendship.
"Call him silly!"

"Okay!!" I ran back upstairs to my room and dialled the number on the voicemail.

The phone rang as my stomach cringed and cramped with every ring.

"Hello?"

My throat felt like it swelled up and I couldn't speak but I managed to get out a weak, raspy, 'hello'.

I coughed into the phone which I'm sure was painfully heard on the other line.

"...Cassadee?!"

My voice squeaked, "Josh!"

"Oh my god, Cassadee, I miss you! It's been so long!!" He cheered

"I know, holy shit-- I mean -- holy crap!" I giggled slightly

Me and Joshua had a long conversation about how we were, how our parents were, and arguing back and forth about him not keeping up with Supernatural, which was our traditional, every Tuesday show.

Then a question hit me straight in the face, "Do you want to hang out sometime?" Of course, I said it would be great but I can't leave the house because "I'm grounded" so I said we can hang out at mine, one thing I didn't think about was Tate, the one person who could fuck this up.
