Tate's POV

"Cassadee!"

She didn't hear me. Fuck. What will Constance tell her?! I ran to the house as fast as I could. Panting, I reached the living room window. I looked in and saw Cassy and my mother sitting on the couch. Cassadee was torn, I watched as she wiped a tear away from her bright red cheek. I broke her... I never meant any of this. Tessa turned on to me first, would she ever realize that? I lost everything again. I don't know how I'll manage to get her back this time.

I fell to the cold wet grass and began to cry without holding back. This is my fault.

Everything was silent; I sat there, waiting...for something, anything.

I could faintly hear their conversation; "Awe, I can tell you really like him Honey. I'm sure it was a misunderstanding, Tate wouldn't do that to a girl he really liked." My mother spoke with a consoling tone. My heart dropped when I heard Cassy's voice; it was despondent and weak, "I do really like him, and a part of me wishes I didn't even see it, that I didn't even know it happened--so I could be in his arms carefree right now." I broke down crying once again.

I love her, I spent what felt like forever crying until I couldn't cry any longer-- until I felt empty. I've never done this for anyone, not even Violet. The lights shut off and it was pitch black. There's nothing I can do. I laid on the uncomfortable grass beside the window and attempted to fall asleep.

I assumed I had slept for a few hours, the sun was rising and I was damp from the mildew and the grass below me. I lifted myself up and peaked into the window; Cassy lie asleep on the couch but I saw my mother slightly in the kitchen, moving around swiftly. I stood up and twisted around the house, I knocked on the door lightly-- quiet enough not to wake up Cassy but loud enough for Constance to hear. I heard vague footsteps leading to the door and the front door whipped open. "Why are you here?" She growled.

"I just want to see her"

"She doesn't wanna see you right now"

"Please" My voice cracked.

I continued, "You know I wouldn't do this mommy, you know it was a mistake. I never meant any of this"

She nodded, "I believe you. But I don't think she would... It would take a lot of apologizin' to get her back."

"I understand that..."

She moved out of my path and I walked in. It was dim, the only light coming in was the one from the kitchen and the sun out of the windows. I looked over and saw Cassy sleeping peacefully and still on the couch. "Be careful. Don't wake 'er up. She's actually sleeping comfortably and I don't think she'd prefer her first sight when she wakes up bein' you." She murmured across the room, lightly closing the door. I nodded and turned to look at Cassadee. I examined her, I love her so much. It made me nauseated to know that I'm losing her by every action I make, by everyday. She was beautiful but there was something different; her face was weak, emotionless, and pale. I noticed something strange...

She wasn't breathing
