Chapter 12: "Is everything... everyone okay?"

The Clearwater family and I sat at the dining table having conversations here and there. The table filled with empty plates and half-filled cups littered on top. It was nice to sit with them and be part of the family. I was enjoying myself. I could see this being a regular thing in the future.

"Bang! Bang!" The banging of the front door interrupted the nice dinner.

"I got it!" Seth said as he jumped out of the chair and rushed to the front door. Leah trailed behind Seth while I helped put the empty dishes into the sink with Sue.

"We need your help!" Jacob said.

"What's going on?" Seth asked worried.

"Bella! She's in trouble!" Jacob said but paused when he saw me coming. "I mean vampires have breached our side and it's not the Cullen family."

"What do you mean by my sister is in trouble?" I asked.

Jacob sighed. "Bella had a rough in with a few vampires awhile back, and at the time we killed one of their mates. Now she is back for revenge."

"We should go help her then." I said about to leave the house to go with Jacob to help save Bella.

Seth grabbed ahold of my wrist and pulled me back. "Woah there! You can't just go face danger alone."

I collided into his chest and pouted. "But this is my sister, I have to help her."

"I know. But I can't let you go and you turn up dead. There's no way I'm about to lose you." Seth said seriously. "Please stay here with my mom. You will be safe here and us, werewolves, will go to Bella and help protect her."

"B-but..." I stuttered.

"Please [Name]. I just got you and I don't want to lose you. It will be unbearable." He said giving me sad eyes.

"What if you get hurt?" I asked. "I don't want to see you come back in pain either or worse. You don't come back." I said as my voice was laced with worry.

He smiled. "I promise I will come back. I promise not to put myself in a too dangerous situation. I promise not to get too hurt. If I do, hopefully you will take care of it." Seth winked playfully. "But seriously, please stay here in safety. As long as I know you are safe, then I can come back safe as well."

I nodded my head in defeat. "Okay, just come back safely and make sure Bella comes back safely as well."

Seth nodded his head and looked at his mom. "Please take care of her for me mom. I promise to come back to the both of you." He then turned to Leah and Jacob. "Let's go."

I watched them leave. "Good luck!" I shouted before they disappeared from our sights.

Sue looked at me with the same expression that I am probably wearing at the moment. "Come here dear." She gestured for me to come closer and I did. She engulfed me in a warm embrace. "They will come back. I'm sure of it. They always do." She reassured me.

I hugged her back. "I know. But I can't help but worry."

"I know dear. I'm the same. Come on let's go back and clean the dishes. We can make cookies and watch that movie while we wait for them." She said trying to distract herself and me from the impending danger that was about to occur. "But first... maybe you should inform your dad about your well-being."

I nodded my head. "Excuse me." I said as I went to the living room to get my phone. I called my dad. "Hey dad." I said when he answered his cell.

"You're coming home tomorrow right?" He asked.

"Yeah. I just wanted to tell you myself." I answered.

"Bella told me." My dad paused. "Are you two okay?" He asked worried.

"Yeah. Bella and I are fine. We will see you tomorrow." I told him.

"Bye." He said before hanging up.

I went back into the kitchen to help wash the dishes and to get started on making the cookies.
"We need 1 egg, 1 stick of butter at room temperature, 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of flour." I said out loud as I read the recipe.

Sue brought out the ingredients. "I knew I was going to make cookies so the egg and butter are both at room temperature already." She informed with a smile.

We took turns mixing the ingredients. First were the butter and sugar, then the flour, and then added the egg and vanilla extract. Once everything was mixed we put the mix into the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.

Sue preheated the oven, and we went into the living room to start the movie we were going to watch with the other two. After 30 minutes, the both of us got up and went to the kitchen to take the cookie batter out. Sue rolled the cookie batter in a thin layer and I used the cookie cutters to cut the dough into different shapes. We placed them into the oven and went back to the movie.

"Ding!" The oven rung as the movie started to get intense.

Sue rushed into the kitchen while I followed behind her. She put on her oven mittens and took out the cookies.

"These look better than the ones I make with Seth." She laughed.

I giggled. "Nothing is better than a ladies' touch of magic." I joked.

We let the cookies cool before eating them. "Are you tired dear?" Sue asked as she saw my eyes start to droop.

I blushed. "A little bit." I answered truthfully.

She took me to a bedroom. "You can sleep in Seth's room." She gave me a soft pat on the back. "I don't think he will mind."

I nodded my head and entered his room. I blushed. "This is my first time in a boy's room." I thought out loud. "It's neat and organized." I sat down on the bed and finally decided to lay down and get comfortable in the blankets.

My eyes started to close, but I remembered I was still in my dress. "I hope he doesn't mind me borrowing a t-shirt." I said as I went to a drawer to borrow a shirt. I quickly got out of my dress and put on his shirt. I kept the shorts I had worn underneath my dress on and finally headed to the bed.

I heaved a deep breath taking in his scent as my eyes closed and I fell into a deep slumber.

I woke up to warmth surrounding me. I forcefully opened my eyes and blushed. I was wrapped up in Seth's embraced. His face a mere inch away from mine. "Seth," I whispered.

"Hmm..." He hummed.

"Please wake up." I said quietly.

"5 more minutes." Seth mumbled.

"Seth, come on wake up." I said a bit louder.

He slowly opened his eyes and grinned. "I'm back [Name]."

"I noticed." I said with an eye roll.

"And I noticed you are wearing my shirt." He winked.

"Sorry, I didn't want to ruin my dress." I told him with an even deeper blush.

"No worries." He replied.

"Did anyone get hurt?" I asked.

Seth shook his head. "Nope..." He trailed off. "Well just some minor injuries, but nothing too dangerous."

"Is everything good now?" I questioned.

"For now. Apparently there's a new vampire. I don't know if this one is bad or good, but be careful." He informed.

My brain slowly digested the new information before I nodded my head. "I see. I'm glad everyone is okay though." I gave him a smile.

"Me too." He said before hugging me tightly and falling back to sleep.
