Chapter 43: Promise Me No Promises

"Shina...had you gotten over me already?"
Mark asked.

"Mark...I-I..."
I muttered.

"I'm sorry Shina, I just want to protect you..."
Mark said.

"I want you to be happy, you had not smiled for such a long time, I miss your beautiful and cheerful smile, I don't wanna see you crying and because of that I can do anything for you."
Mark said.

"I want you to..."

"MARK!"
I yelled and started to cry.

"How can I do that without the person I love the most?"
I asked and started crying even more.

"Why would you do that to me, you want to protect me but not this way, I hate it."
I stated.

Mark look at me, he came to me and pull me into his embrace and gave me a tight hug.

"Shina, I have my reason, please understand."
Mark said.

"Promise me you will wait for me, I promise I'll get you back, but please wait."
Mark said.

I push him away and wipe my tears off my eyes and took my bag that I left on the bench.

"Mark...all the promises that you ask me to promise you, I did all my best to keep those promises, but now...I only ask you for one thing..."
I said.

"Promise me no more promises."
I said.

"If you really want to end all of this, then I'll agree on it."

"I wish to not see you anymore, I wish you can vanish from my life! Forever!"
I said.

"So please leave, I hate you Mark Tuan Yi En!"
I yelled and ran away.

I went further so that Mark will not catch up to me. Heart feeling upset and miserable. As I was walking. A black car stopped beside me but I didn't care at all.

I continue to walk until a sound stopped me.

"Shina!"

I turned around and discovered that it is San Hyuk and...my brother Kristif.

"Kris!"
I ran into my brother and gave him a hug.

"I know you miss me but is crying really necessary for our first meet after so long?"
He asked slightly chuckling.

"Kris...I don't know what to do now..."
I cried.

"What's wrong? Is everything ok?"
He asked as I shook my head.

"Let's bring this somewhere else, we're in the middle of the road."
San Hyuk said.

"Right."
Kristif agreed and lead me to the car.

Mark's POV

"Tell me now, where is Shina?"

"She left."
I said.

As Jin was gonna leave to look for Shina. I pulled him back and gave him a punch.

"Don't ever care about Shina, she's mine, you don't have the right to do it."
I said.

"Yours? I thought you dumped her."
Jin said.

"Shut up!"
I yelled and stood still to my full height.

"You won't want to create a scene Mark."

"Jin...you're the only person I trust...if anything happen to me, please take good care of Shina."
I chilled down and spoke up.

"What's wrong with you these days Mark? Are you up to some trouble or something?"
He asked as I shook my head.

"I trust you hyung."
I said and gave him a tap on his shoulder.

I walk away and entered my car as I began to drive off.

Do you think this is the end of everything? No, no matter what, I'll get Shina back. No matter what it takes, I'll make sure to bring her back to me.

Shina's POV

"You're kidding me aren't you?"
San Hyuk asked half surprised as he almost spilled out his coffee.

I shook my head and look down. I noticed my brother's fist rolling up tightly together. His vein began to pop out as I began to worried about what he's thinking about.

"I'm sure he is someone no good, people like Jessica Koh and him is just the same."
Kristif stated.

"What do you mean by that? And who is Jessica Koh?"
I asked.

"She is Hope, that's her real name, but she is known as Jessica Hope more because Mark gave her that nickname."
San Hyuk explained.

"Shin...I'm sure you know the truth behind why did Mark break up with you right?"
San Hyuk asked as I shook my head.

"So he has been hiding the truth from you huh?"
Kristiff asked.

"What do you mean?"
I asked.

"Mark father's company is in trouble and the person behind this is Hope's father. He had a document in his hand that can ruin Mark father's company and in order for him to keep his company, Mark will have to agree to marry Hope and return back to America, this is the reason...."
San Hyuk explained.

"And also to protect you from any harm that Hope might do to you."
San Hyuk added.

"That's why he had been saying these...to protect me, so that I can be happy."

"Why didn't he tell me that?!"
I asked furiously.

I took my phone and was trying to call his phone. After all those things I've said to him. I misunderstood everything. Why didn't he tell me?! Just why?!

"Shin...Mark will be leaving soon."
Kristif said.

"What?"
I looked him curiously.

"Didn't he told you? He's going back to America today."
San Hyuk said.
