A day passed with no sign of Lox interfering. Lilium was now following her father Veta down the streets of Tokyo to the airport. They were going to see his wife and Kiki.
Lilium was overjoyed, almost crying from happiness. She didn't cry, though. She refused to cry in front of her father ever again.
She yawned and Veta smiled down at her.
"Tired?"
Lilium nodded and grabbed his arm, laying her head against him. He laughed a little and picked her up.
"I'm too big to be carried, aren't I? Aren't I tall?" She asked faithfully.
"Absolutely not. I am way taller than you Lilium. You're not even up to my shoulder."
"Dad, you're like six foot four," Lilium argued, refusing to be considered tiny. Even if it was true, she felt tall.
"Six foot five," Veta inquired, making Lilium sigh.
She tried not to fall asleep but when they sat on the bench she couldn't fight it. She allowed herself to close her eyes.

"Lilium, wake up. They're here."
Lilium looked up at her father. She was laying in his lap somehow. She whined but got up slowly. Veta helped her up and they walked to the plane's exit.
A young woman walked out last with a sleeping child on her side. The child looked a little older so it had to be Kiki.
"Akira! Over here!" Veta yelled. The girl ran over smiling.
"Finally, we can come home for good this time and," she paused as she saw Lilium and continued, "is this your daughter you were talking about before our wedding?"
"Yeah. This is Lilium. Say hello to Akira, my child," Veta pulled Lilium from behind his coat.
"Hi..." Lilium said shyly. Akira smiled at the young girl.
"You're really pretty, Lilium. I love your hair and eyes."
Lilium smiled a little and asked the question she wanted to know.
"How old are you?"
"Almost thirty-two. And you're about fourteen I'm guessing? That's how long ago your father told me the process started," Akira answered.
"Yeah. But I'm technically five. Right, father?" Lilium looked up at Veta.
"Yes, Lilium. Let's wake Kiki and they can meet," Veta suggested. Akira nodded so Veta took Kiki and shook her a little.
"Kiki, wake up and meet your half sister."
Kiki opened her eyes to reveal a stunning aqua blue color similar to Veta's. Her hair was a light brown at the roots but bleached blonde and the tips showed proof that she dyed her hair a teal color. The little girl pointed to the ground and was then put down. She walked to Lilium.
Lilium cocked her head to one side like a puppy. She didn't expect what happened next.
Tears appeared in Kiki's eyes. Lilium thought she was scaring her sister, but realized she wasn't when Kiki suddenly hugged her and cried into her shoulder. Lilium hugged her back and felt her own vision blur from tears but she quickly blinked them away. One single tear took the dare to fall.
The sisters were pried apart by Veta so they could all go home and sleep. It was a long day for all of them. Tomorrow they'd all hang out as a family.
Lilium slept in the guest room. Veta promised to make it her room very soon. He told her what he'd do but she fell asleep half way through his description.

Lilium woke up at nine and smiled. She loved the smell of flowers lingering through the house. She got up and went to the kitchen. Veta was on the phone arguing with someone. Kiki was drawing at the table while Akira sat with her head down. Veta snapped his fingers at his wife and mouthed, "are you okay?"
Lilium barely believed how nice Veta could be. He was so mad at whoever was on the phone yet cared so much about his wife at the same time. He was always like this. He didn't care about his own problems if someone he loved was in distress as well. Lilium watched as Akira stood and ran to the front porch. Veta said a few more things like, "whatever," and "leave us the hell alone. You're hurting my family." After he slammed the phone down he ran after Akira leaving the two girls sitting in the kitchen alone. Their parents were on the porch but the house was quiet.
Kiki spoke first.
"Do you wanna see something cool?"
Lilium turned to see her holding up a map of some woods.
"What's that picture of?" Lilium questioned.
"The woods across the street out back. I want to show you something amazing. But it's a secret! Don't tell anyone!"
"I promise," Lilium said.
The two walked out front and saw Veta and Akira kissing.Lilium smiled and Kiki cringed.

They walked out to the forest and went in pretty deep before stopping at a grave.
"William T. Veta?" Lilium asked.
"Daddy's grave."
Lilium laughed at Kiki's statement.
"You mean his plot? Father is alive!"
"No. Daddy died once," Kiki said matter of factly.
"You're not serious... are you?" Lilium began to think of what she could be revealing.
"Daddy died before I was born. He died because he gave you blood. Do you really think a pint or two would keep a whole person alive?"
Lilium thought about it.
"Professor Lox brought daddy back with a resurrection spell he created."
"Okay, back track. If Lox had a resurrection spell then why the hell did he keep my mother dead? He grieved her death, didn't he? So why not bring her back?" Lilium demanded to know.
"Don't you know the truth, sister?" Kiki seemed shocked that Lilium didn't know something about her own mother.
"Tell me what you know... now!" Lilium yelled sternly. She didn't mean to be rude to her sister, but she had to know. This was her own mother! This Kiki girl could tell her everything that didn't make sense to her while growing up in the lab.
"You're mother was in an affair with Lox. His wife and children were suspicious about this so Lox killed your mom so they wouldn't find out. He said she committed suicide so they could do tests on her at the labs. Don't you see? You're mom's death was all a big murder cover up."
