*That night on the bus*
Everyone is asleep on the bus. Except for Mitch. He smiles as he lays in his bunk and thinks of his new relationship with Scott. Soon enough, he falls asleep.
*Mitch's nightmare*
Mitch: No! No, Scott please! Don't do this!
He cries, screaming at his new boyfriend.
Mitch: Scott, stop! Please! You don't have to do this!
Scott cries, standing on top of the bridge side. It's a cold, gloomy, windy, rainy day.
Mitch grabs Scott's hand as they both cry.
Mitch: Scott, please get down! Please don't jump....I need you!...
*He wakes up in panic*
Scott wakes up when he hears his new love breathing heavy.
Scott: Mitch?
He whispers.
Scott: Are you okay?
Mitch continues to breathe heavily. He tries to calm down.
Mitch: Yeah...
He nods.
Mitch: Everything is alright, Scotty. It's okay, just go back to sleep.
Scott nods and yawns.
Scott: Okay, goodnight Mitchie.
As they go back to sleep, Mitch has another nightmare.
*His other nightmare*
Mitch cries as he holds Scott's almost lifeless hand. He wipes a tear from his eye.
Mitch: You're so cold...so pale...so sick..
He says quietly as he looks down. gently placing Scott's hand on his face.
Scott's heart monitor beeps ever so slowly.
He cries silently as Scott lays in his hospital bed.
His lifeline goes flat.
Mitch: Scott?
He asks as he lifts his head to look at Scott.
Mitch: Scott?....
He starts to panic.
Mitch: Scott! No!
He sees the monitor and bursts out in tears.
Mitch: SCOTT! BABY, NO! NO YOU CANT LEAVE ME, SCOTTY!
He screams as he holds Scott's lifeless hand.
Mitch: Come back! Please! I need you!
He cries hard.
*Mitch wakes up, this time not only breathing heavy, but his heart is racing so fast it hurts.*
He holds his chest as he attempts to control his breathing and slow his heart rate.
Scott wakes up again.
Scott: Mitchie, are you sure you're okay? You sound scared...
He says in a worried voice.
Somehow, everyone else is still asleep.
Mitch: Yes, I'm sorry Scottland..I don't mean to wake you..
Scott: It's okay...if you need anything, I'm here for you.
He reaches across the small hall between their bunks and kisses Mitch's hand. The sweet gesture makes Mitch quickly calm down and smile.
Scott: Goodnight, my cute Mitchie.
Mitch blushes in the dark.
Mitch: Sweet dreams, Scottland.
They drift to sleep again. To help try and prevent another nightmare, Mitch puts his golden necklace next to his pillow and snuggles the bear Scott had given him at the hotel.
He falls asleep with his bear to his chest and a smile on his lips.
Sadly, he has another nightmare.
*The third nightmare*
Scott: Mitch, it's over with us. I'm done.
Mitch's heart breaks into a million pieces.
Mitch: But...but why? I thought everything was going fine.
He asks as a tear falls down his cheek.
Scott sees the necklace he gave him and yanks it from his neck.
Mitch gasps as another tear falls.
Scott: I don't love you.
*It isn't long until Mitch awakens in tears.*
He tries to keep quiet, but somehow Scott manages to hear him and wakes up.
Mitch jumps when he feels a hand softly touch his. He gasps and looks up.
It's Scott.
Scott looks in his eyes, knowing something is clearly really upsetting him.
Mitch: Oh, Scott..
He cries as he jumps into Scott's arms. Scott embraces him warmly.
Scott: Shh, Mitchie.
He says quietly, holding the small tenor.
Scott: It's okay. I'm here. What's wrong?
Mitch: I...I kept having nightmares...and I know I sound like a baby for..
Scott cuts him off.
Scott: No...you're not a baby, Mitch. If something upsets you, it's okay to cry.
He kisses Mitch's forehead and takes his hands as he pulls him off his bunk.
Scott: Come on..
He says, not caring to know what happened that upset Mitch. He knows asking will only make it worse.
Mitch: W-where are we going?
He asks as he holds Scott's hand with one hand and wipes away a tear with the other.
Scott: My bunk.
Mitch: But these bunks are so tiny, you'll be uncomfortable...
Scott: As long as I have you with me and in my arms, I don't care where we are.
With that, the two new boyfriends lay in Scott's bunk of the bus.
Scott closes his eyes as he holds Mitch to his chest.
Mitch: S-Scott?...
He asks, ever so quietly.
Scott: Yes, Mitch?
Mitch: I...I'm scared to sleep again. What if I have another nightmare?
Scott kisses Mitch's head again and holds him closer.
Scott: I will be right here with you.
Mitch smiles softly and snuggles into Scott's chest.
They both fall asleep, and this time,
No nightmares.
