❝i cant see shit❞Silently, Brad walked into the room himself and Cassandra were going to stay in for the night. There were two single beds and Brad instantly walks over to the furthest away from the door, next to the window. She hadn't noticed his duffel bag full of clothes until he chucked it onto the bed and closed the curtains.
"Turn on the light," he says with a bored tone, turning back around to face Cassandra. He watched her turn on the light. "Do you want me to go get some food from Tristan?"
Before she could reply, he's already walking out of the motel room and she sighs, placing the plastic bag with her clothes Tristan had kindly bought her and pulls out the charger for her phone.
It instantly starts charging and she sighs in relief, sitting on her bed and taking in her surroundings. The motel was decent, but not as clean and furnished as the one she worked in. There were plenty of trees outside behind the motel and a long, empty road in front of the building. The atmosphere felt empty and she felt a churning feeling in her stomach.
I'm just hungry, she thought before standing up and following where Brad had walked out, closing the door after making sure she had the key to reopen it.
Hearing faint chatter on the other side of the door, she knocked faintly on the door—mostly because she was weak and tired from the lack of sleep she'd had in the past couple of days.
The door swung open and she was greeted by Connor, "we were just about to bring you some food! What do you want? We have chocolate and sweets and crisps and sandwiches too."
She gives him smile and shrugs, "I don't mind. I'm just going to eat and then go to bed."
"We probably all should do that, really," Connor agrees, letting her into the room. She didn't notice Brad roll his eyes towards Tristan, which Tristan returned with a glare. "It's a big day tomorrow, off to Yorkshire and all."
"How long do you think we'll be there for?" She questions, closing the door before sitting on a chair opposite the three boys that were on the bed.
Tristan chucks her a packet of chocolate and crisps, "it depends how the test goes. You'll probably be tested whilst you're awake and then also when you're asleep. Obviously they'll sedate you and not just kidnap you whilst your sleeping."
"The tests takes a week or so to find the final results before eventually you get them back," Connor continues as Tristan bites into his sandwich and Cassandra takes a crisp. "If you're who we think—"
"Connor thinks," Brad corrects, interrupting his friend.
"Then we'll train you and get you ready before we get James back for a few more weeks," Connor says and smiles sympathetically at the small girl in front of them. "It's going to be a hard couple of months but you'll be fine."
