❝try not to cry❞Cassandra was shoved into a white room. There were no windows, the only way out was a door that was sealed shut behind her. The chains were still around her wrists and she couldn't perform any of her powers while they were on.
There was one camera, she noticed, in the top corner of the room by her door. She frowned up at it, before releasing a sigh and sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall.
Ethan looked through a computer screen that looked down at her cell, "What a pretty little thing she is."
"What are you gonna do with her?" Simon asks, glancing at the screen. "She's the only one with all five powers, I'd wanna take care of her if I were you."
"I know," Ethan sighs. "We'll train her up tomorrow. I feel like she'll co-operate more than the boy. I'll get Josh to continue his research and as soon as he's found a way to extract her power without killing her, we'll begin."
That night, Cassandra slept on the bed that was provided, shivering under the thin sheets. They hadn't brought any food for her since she arrived but she didn't notice because she didn't know the time.
Meanwhile, Brad sat outside on her car, resting against the window shield. The other three boys were celebrating James' return in the motel room with some takeout food. They were going to set off the next morning.
He closes his eyes, imagining his girl next to him, perhaps laying on his chest. He'd be running his hand through her hair while her eyes were closed. She'd smell of roses and she would be wearing his shirt and it would be tucked into her trousers.
He'd tell her how much he loves her and how much he's glad she's there and how he's going to take her around the world.
He lets out a sigh, turning to his left and seeing James walking his way. He sits up on the hood of the car, watching James slide up and sit next to him, too.
"Hey," Brad smiles at his friend, letting the blonde put an arm over his shoulder, giving him an awkward hug.
"Hey, buddy," he replies. "How you feeling? Better?"
"I guess, you?"
"A lot," he nods. "I'm all caught up now. Almost."
"Yeah? That's nice," Brad replies, looking out to the forest. Cassie was in there, so close to him yet so far away.
"Hmm," Brad says.
"That girl, Cassandra, you like her?" James questions and Brad nods slowly.
"Love."
James smiles, "you fell in love without me being there to see it? Wow." Brad stays silent, a small smile on his face. "Tell me about her."
