❝grow wings and fly away❞Brad stood behind Cassandra as they wait for Joe to show them what to do. Connor was on the opposite side of the table while Tristan stood next to Joe.
They all stood by a large table which was covered with a world map. There were five beakers of blood, each a different colour to represent a different element.
"There we go," Joe says as he puts an object down to keep the map from rolling up. "We're ready."
"What do we do?" Connor asks, glancing over to Cassandra but she was looking down at the map and didn't notice.
"We wait," Joe says. "We put a drop of each element on to the map and it should move to the location of each person. We start with Cassandra, then Brad, then you and then Tristan."
"Then James," Connor says quietly. The boys couldn't believe this was it, they were finally going to get James back after five years.
"Are you ready?" Joe asks, looking at each person and they nod. The boys had waited so long for this.
Brad's hand takes Cassandra's, surprising her but she takes it anyway, letting him squeeze it to calm his nerves. She unconsciously steps forward towards him, causing him to smile slightly.
Joe picks up the first beaker full of black blood. He glances over to Cassandra, "ice."
He tips the beaker slightly, so that three drops of blood spill on to the paper. The candles around the room flare up as the drops join together and guides across the paper, to the South of England.
Joe nods, certain that it was working before grabbing the clear beaker full of fiery red blood, glancing over to Brad, "fire."
Once again, the red drops join up and guide to the same place the black blood was, mixing together to create a dark maroon shade.
Next was the blue blood. Three drops join together, this time sitting by the maroon blood and Cassandra glances over to Connor, he was already staring at her.
"Wind," Joe picks up the silver blood, pouring it on to the paper and they all watch it sit by the maroon and blue blood.
Joe turns to the green blood and everyone silently intakes a breath, their hearts beating so out of sync, so out of rhythm.
"Earth."
The drops fall to the paper, joining up and sliding across the map. Brad stops breathing for a moment and Cassandra squeezes his large hand to reassure him that it's going to work. It has to.
The green drops don't move for a second and Cassandra's eyes flicker up to look at Joe as they sit there in the middle of the sea before it starts moving. Towards the other bloods.
