Your eyes widened at the large and vast field of snow. Miles and miles of snow, the place was completely deserted except for the small cabin. It was in the middle of nowhere until Lukas told you there were some villages nearby and indigeneous groups of people. This place reminded you of that buffalo scene from rhe Revnant. Congratulations to Leo DiCaprio for final-fucking-ly winning a goddamm Oscar.

"What is this place?"

"Finnmarksvidda, the home of the jotnar." Lukas said with greatness as you watched the snowy fields. "There's a cabin up ahead, but you won't see the plateau from there."

"Why not?" You asked. "Great views for great reviews in tourism."

"You want to be crushed by a troll in your sleep?" He rose an eyebrow at you.

"I take that back."

After more snow and another mile of snow, you both reached a cabin in the middle of nowhere. If it had a windmill and looked a bit more rickety, you wouldn't mistaken it as Courage's house from Courage the Cowardly Dog Show. It looked cozy. A bit worn out, but the windows were still attached. No holes or any damages. The appearance was just an appearance. The entire place must be disguised with magic and all like the rock when you first came to that so-called bombing area. Yet the only difference between the cabin and the cartoon house was that the cabin was abut bigger.

The place was completely covered in snow though. You hoped that it didn't break in.

You grabbed your pack that had a good supply of clothes that could last for three days, sanitary stuff, and of course your equipment for your report. You made sure that your phone and camera made it through everything. Luckily, your friends sent you your laptop when you both were at Hammerfest. Editing was now easier and filled with more options other than cutting and cropping on your phone.

You got out of the SUV and jumped into the 2-feet thick snow. You froze in place as you could feel the snow melting through your pants. A deep sigh of regret instantly left your lips as you started to waddle towards the steps of the cabin. You cussed along the way and murmured how great of an idea was jumping into the snow with a heavy ass backpack.

You managed to reach the steps of the cabin where Lukas was fiddling with the keys. You noticed that his breathes were heavy his hands were shaky. When he placed the key into the lock, you heard a small hiss out of his lips. His actions shocked youm he was fine earlier, now he looked like he just gained frostbites all over his body.

"Are you alright... babe?" Lukas suddenly cringed.

You snickered at his reaction. The man faced you with a sour look. You made a finger gun and shot him with an imaginary bullet. You winked that made him cringe even more. You broke into laughter, clutching your arms over your stomach. Lukas looked at you thinking that this was ridiculous and a very bad attempt to create a nickname for each other.

"Don't." He simply replied amd turned back to opening the cabin's doors.

"Alright sweetie."

"For the love of god, stop." You snorted at him and pulled yourself up on the porch.

You leaned against the rusty iron railings covered with snow. The snow was already leveled with the porch somehow, but it didn't bury it. Fogged windows and a surprisingly sturdy door were the first things you noticed up close. On both sides of the door were two unlit gas lamps that you'd doubt you'd use tonight. The doors had scratches on them. You wiped the fogged windows to see more scratches, but the windows were thicker than bulletproof glass.
