Decorating

Elena POV

It was nearly Christmas so Damon and I decided to decorate our dorm. It was Damon's idea but I actually like it. So we went to buy some decorations. We are also buying a small Christmas tree. During Christmas we won't be at the dorm because we will be spending it with our families at home in our home towns but I decided that I am still going to buy a Christmas present for Damon. 

We have been really close lately and we actually have good memories together. We bought a small Christmas tree and a few decorations, some tinsel and some fairy lights. It was getting late and it was a Friday evening so Damon went to buy us a take away.

I told him I will wait for him in the car but actually I went back to the mall to buy him his present. I found a really nice perfume which smelled amazing so I decided to buy him that. I have bought Caroline's and Bonnie's presents before but we will give them to each other on Christmas Day when we are in our hometown.

When I was ready I went back in the car but he was already in the car. Oh shit!

Damon: I thought you said you were going to wait for me in the car? 

Elena: Well I was on the way here but I saw a cool present for my mum.

Damon: Can I see it?

Elena: No!

Damon: Why?

Elena: Because in the end I didn't buy it because I didn't have enough money.

Damon: Why didn't you tell me! Go buy it! Don't worry about the money I will pay for it! How much is it?

Elena: It's ok I will find something else! Besides I am starving let's go!

Damon: Are you sure?!

Elena: Yeah I am.

That was so close at least he didn't suspect anything or I hope he didn't! Why do I have such bad luck.

Damon POV

Why was Elena acting so weird about her mother's present? Anyways I bought Elena a present maybe she will fall for me because of that. I bought her a cute necklace with her name on it. I hope she will love it. I will give it to her before we go and spend Christmas with our families. When we went home we put the decorations in a pile for tomorrow, ate our take-away and Elena went to sleep however I decided this was the best time to wrap her present.

Afterwards I went to sleep hoping to dream about Elena. The next day after breakfast we started decorating. It was a Saturday so we didn't have any lectures. We started with the tree, we decorated it with tinsel, coloured lights and blue, red and gold ball balls. Elena wanted to do the star on top of the tree so I let her. She was so happy and even hugged me. We made some tinsel around our dorm with Christmas songs in the background. 

After finishing the decorations Stefan was calling me on Skype so I went into my room to talk to him. Elena on the other hand went into her room but I had no clue what she was up to.

Elena POV

While Damon was doing his skype call I wrapped his present and hid it in my underwear drawer, he will never look in there! After I was finished I called my mum and told her when I will be coming home for Christmas which was Christmas Eve. Bonnie and Caroline are going on the 23rd however I couldn't because I have a project to finish. Damon will also leave on Christmas Eve because he didn't wan me to be alone. That is so sweet of him! 

Why is my heart beating so fast! Stop it Elena you don't like him that way! He is just a good friend besides he doesn't even see you like that! He's so handsome and kind! Stop it Elena! Why are my emotions all over the place!! 

Suddenly there was a knock on my door ruining my train of thoughts. It was Caroline and she told me that we were going out!

Elena: OMG!! I forgot I am so sorry! Just let me change! Where's Bonnie?

Caroline: She can't come! *sad pout*

Elena: Why? 

Caroline: She has a lot of homework due on Monday and she also has to study for a test. Now stop asking questions and get ready! Btw you and Damon did an amazing job on the decorations!

Elena: Ok mum.

After I was ready I found Caroline talking to Damon. I am glad they bonded together. Well they bonded before Damon and I could even stand each other. I told Damon goodbye and he told us to enjoy ourselves.

3rd person narrative

So that night both Damon and Elena spend the night thinking about each other but Elena is still denying her feelings even though that night she opened up with Caroline and Caroline told her that she was falling for him, she still denies it. This was all because of a mistake that she did in the past......
