Graduation

*3 and a half years later*

Elena POV

Today was the day everyone was waiting. It is the day of Graduation when we were finally ready from University and school and in general. In these past three years many things happened in my relationship with Damon we had many ups and downs however we never ever once broke up again. We met both of our families ad both of them were happy that we were together my brother and Stefan also got along as well which is amazing!

In the morning the girls and I went to get our hair done in a nearby hair salon while the boys were getting their tuxes from the dry cleaners. Afterwards we went to get lunch and we went to Caroline and Bonnie's dorm to do each other's make up and get ready as the ceremony was at 4. When everyone was ready we went to take some pictures in the school garden as there were beautiful scenery and flowers there. It was also perfect to capture some amazing Instagram as well. 

We took some alone and with each other our parents were already seated so that they could get a good view of us accepting our certificate. After that mini photo shoot we had we put on our capes and caps however Caroline being Caroline forgot her cap at her dorm and had to turn back to get it. We waited for her and like usual she took a long time to get it. Typical Caroline. 

Caroline: I got it at last!

Bonnie: You never changed! Since you were little you used to forget things behind. 

Elena: Yeah remember the time when you forgot that your bag at school and couldn't get it since the school closed and you couldn't do your homework. And you had extra work because of that!

Caroline: Ha ha ha! Very funny guys! Where are we gonna meet the boys anyway?

Elena: They reserved us a seat next to them as we an sit next to each other at least!

Bonnie: Better than high school!

Caroline: Tell me about it! I remember that I was surrounded by a bunch of idiots!

Bonnie: We should go as there is only 15 minutes until it starts!

With that we left and found our seats. I sat between Damon and Bonnie and I couldn't as for better seats. 

Damon: You look stunning today! I love that dress on you!

Elena: Aww Damon you're making me blush!

After a few minutes seated the ceremony started and the principal started making a speech which was a bit long and Damon started complaining. After some students showed their talents and they did amazing performances! Afterwards it was time to call the graduates and when they called my name I spotted my parents filming me and my brother cheering for me! When all the graduates were called they were some special prizes and unexpectedly they called my name and I got the prize for the most hard-working student and Klaus got the prize for the most artistic student. When the ceremony was over everyone took off their caps and threw it in the air. Damon kissed me and afterwards the students gathered on the University's stairs to take one last picture together.

When the picture was taken my mum came and engulfed me in a hug. 

Elena's mum: I am so proud of you baby! Can't believe you have grown up so fast!

Everyone was talking to their families and after our group took a photo together as we girls only had one on our own. Another photo shoot took place and was happy with how Damon and I's photo turned out!

A party was going to be held straight after the ceremony so we immediately drove there. When we arrived we showed our tickets and there were separate tables so we found a table which was perfect as there was 6 chairs. The venue was beautiful as it was held outside and the scenery was absolutely breath taking as you could see the city on one side and the sea on the other. 

At first the appetizers came and we started eating sine we hadn't eaten since lunch and there were also some cocktails as beverages. We immediately went to order one. We talked about what we were going to job related and promised each other to still meet once in a while. We cheered for the memories we had and the more we were going to have in the future. Damon and I were thinking about moving together when we have enough money and have found a job which Damon already did as he was going to work in his father's company as he graduated in business. 

After we went to the buffet and have dinner and afterwards went to have dessert. There was a disco held and everyone went to dance except for for me as I didn't want to dance. However Damon instantly grabbed my hand and pulled me from the chair. We intertwined our hands together and went to find the others. He finally persuaded me to dance and it was actually fun! Even some of the teachers came to dance which I didn't expect at all! 

At first there were some slow dances and every couple danced including me and Damon. Afterwards some fun songs came and Klaus and Damon thought it was a good idea to pick Enzo up but ended up falling on Bonnie which was hilarious however Bonnie didn't think it was very funny!

The girls and I decided to take off our shoes as they were very painful to dance in and many others did the same! After dancing and having an amazing time it was 2 in the morning and thought it was a good idea to go back to the dorm. We all went and when we arrived both Damon and I got dressed in our pajamas and immediately fell asleep. It was by far the best graduation I ever had and that I will never forget!
