Epilogue: Wedding

*3 and a half years later*

Elena POV

2 years after we moved in that apartment Damon decided to propose to me when we were on holiday in Greece on a beautiful sandy beach and of course without thinking twice I said yes. After a few months we decided to move into a house in the outskirts of the town as we were getting married and we needed more space as we will be having children in the future and the apartment only had 1 bedroom.

After we moved into the new house we started planning for the wedding and we decided to marry in a nearby church and have the reception in a beautiful restaurant which was held on the outside as we were getting married in the middle of July. Of course Bonnie and Caroline were my bride maids but I decided to not have maid of honor as I couldn't choose between them. Damon's best man was obviously his brother Stefan and Klaus, Enzo and my brother Jeremy were the rest of the groomsmen.

After planning for months our wedding day finally came by. My family came a few days earlier and my mum was close to tears when she saw me trying on the wedding dress as she couldn't believe that I was getting married. The girls decided to throw me a bachelorette party a few days before the wedding. It wasn't a massive wild party where strippers where involved. We just had a day at the spa and in the evening we went to a nice restaurant for dinner however they did buy me a cake with a penis on top of it.

The boys decided to go clubbing for Damon's bachelor party however no strippers were involved but they did rent a limo and Klaus was the only one who got drunk.

The day of the wedding finally arrived and I couldn't sleep that night as it wasn't usual that Damon doesn't sleep next to me. However we decided to go with tradition and not see each other on the day of our Wedding before the ceremony. I woke early as I was too excited and it was still dark outside however I couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to write in my diary of how I felt as I hadn't written in my dairy for a while so I updated it on my life.

I went downstairs to make breakfast for everyone and when everyone got up we went to the hair salon to get our hair done as it wasn't fair away. I was only a five minute walk. Straight afterward we went back home and the make up artist came to get our make up down. My mum made some sandwiches for us and when it was time the girls and mum helped me put on my wedding dress. The bridesmaid dresses was light blue and it went down to the floor. Both Bonnie and Caroline were satisfied with the dress which I was glad about.

Before we went to the church they took some pictures of me alone and with the girls which turned out great. When it was time I put my veil on and off we went. When I arrived I found my dad, Klaus and Ezno waiting by the door. Both Enzo and Klaus linked hands with Bonnie and Caroline and went in front of me and my dad. When he saw me he told me that he felt so proud of me and that I looked beautiful with my wedding dress.

I linked hands with him and before we walked down the aisle he told me that even though I was getting married I was still going to be his little girl. I was getting close to tearing up but I successfully held them back as I didn't want to start crying not before Damon and I exchange our vows.

Damon POV

I was so nervous about this day and when I was waiting for Elena to walk down the aisle with her dad my hands started to sweat. Both Jeremy and Stefan noticed this and tried to reassure me that everything was going to be fine. Suddenly the music started playing and at first Klaus and Caroline walked down the aisle then Bonnie and Ezno. I couldn't wait to see Elena as I didn't see her all day which was annoying however that was tradition and we decided to go with it.

When I saw her I was taken aback her dress was so beautiful and she looked gorgeous in it that I couldn't take my eyes off of her. When she arrived I shook her dad's hands and put her veil and saw the face that I adore the most. I whispered quickly how beautiful she looked and her cheeks got little bit red. I am glad I could still leave that effect on Elena even though we have been quite a few years together now. The ceremony started and it was time to exchange our vows.

Damon: Elena where could I start. You are the most beautiful girl and has the most amazing personality. You turned me into a better person and made me look at life in a different way and made me appreciate it. Elena I vow to always be there for you in sickness and health and in everything the future has in store for us. I vow to always take care for you and be always your side and never leaving it. I also vow to never give up on us and make the out most to make you happy. Elena I vow to love you till death do us apart.

I could see that she was in tears and now it was turn to make her vow.

Elena: Wow you really left me in tears Damon. *wipes them off* Damon you always turn my day into a happy one even if in the beginning it was horrible. You always have been there for me and never left my side and I know for sure you will continue to do that. You are such an incredible person Damon and nobody can be better than you. Damon I vow that I will always be by your side. I vow to solve our conflicts and talk them out. I vow to be there for you in sickness and in health, in sadness and in happiness and the ups and downs we will have in the future. Damon I vow to love you till death do us apart.

Now it was my turn to shed tears. We exchanged our rings.

Priest: Now by the power invested in God I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.

I didn't hesitate to grab Elena by her waist and kiss her a passionate kiss. Everyone started clapping. After the ceremony when we went out of the church everyone started throwing confetti at us and we drank a glass of champagne with our hands intertwined. Afterwards we went to take some photos in a nearby beach as I did propose to Elena on a beach so it made sense. After the photo shoot we made our way to the reception.

Elena POV

When we entered everyone started clapping and cheering and made our way to our table. Stefan decided to make a speech and so did Bonnie which were both very heart warming and I ended up crying for the second time that night and I for sure knew that it wouldn't be the last. Food was being served and it was a good time to for Damon and I go around the guests and thank them for coming.

The food delicious and it was time to dance. At first Damon and I danced to the song 'All of me' by John Legend which was a very romantic song. All eyes where on us and as you knew it I cried again. Some couples joined us including Bonnie and Enzo and Caroline and Klaus. The songs went from slow to fun and we had a good time dancing.

After dancing for a while it was time to cut the cake and when we did silly string was sprayed on both me and Damon. It wasp past midnight and guests were starting to leave so we stayed by the door and gave them a souvenir. We hugged our close family and friends and when everybody left we decided to go home however when we get home a big surprise was waiting for Damon.

When we arrived we went straight to our bedroom and decided to reveal the big surprise to Damon.

Elena: Damon do you notice something from my wedding dress?

Damon: What's wrong?

I put my hands around my stomach.

Damon: Don't tell me you're pregnant?!

Elena: Yep I am!

Damon: When did you find out?!

Elena: About three weeks ago and I went to do a check up last week and the doctor said I am a month and a half pregnant. I didn't tell you so I could surprise you.

Damon: OMG! This is the best news ever I am so happy!! 

With that Damon engulfed me in a hug and kissed me passionately.

Damon: This means that our child experienced our wedding!

We did go on our honeymoon to Hawaii and I was so happy that Damon was so happy that we were going to have a baby. 7 and a half months later I gave birth to a healthy baby boy which we decided to name Aiden. We were a happy little family.
