“I don’t know how to say this in simpler terms but…”
This can’t happen.
“…we’re letting you off.”
Dear Diary,
I really wished I was just dreaming earlier. But I wasn’t. It was true. It was all real. The thing that I’m really scared to happen just happened. I know I’m just young in the industry but I was surely doing my job of taking care of my patients. Age shouldn’t be the basis of whether you should be laid off or not? It’s not fair! Unfortunately, I can’t do anything about it.
They have to cut their staff because of the financial crisis our country was having. They have to reduce everything in their line. And I was one of the reductions.
Since I can’t argue anymore, I just went away. I packed my things and moved out of the hospital. I went away without telling her good bye. I know that she’ll just forget that I left the next day so what’s the use of telling her? Besides, I don’t want her to know that I’m leaving because I’ll always be there for her. Even if I’m not working there, I’ll always visit her. They can’t ban me from seeing her, right? I can just be one of her friends who’ll visit her, take care of her or whatever. Maybe I can do that. I’ll miss her so much if I won’t.
