The Girl on the Reset Button

Dear Diary,

My plan worked out. Every time I’ll see her, I always feel that she’s glad to see me. Every time I’ll see her, she’ll always have this glow on her face. Rosy cheeks, that smile on her lips and everything! Well, maybe I was the only one who’s see that. And maybe it’s because I always miss her so much. Not seeing her and being with her for a long time sucks.

I was really grateful when I found out that Sylvia was her new nurse. Sylvia was a friend of mine so it was no sweat at all to get updates from her about Via. She always tell me stories on how she sometimes lose patience with Via and how she gets sick when Via kept on forgetting her name every day. And we’ll just laugh that all out because it was nonsense being mad at someone who’ll just forget about it the next day.

Everything was fine. Not until today.

“Hi, Jane.”

I felt that something was not right when Jane, the girl up in the front desk, just smiled at me. She always greet me back. But earlier, she didn’t.

When I went to Via’s room, she was not there. I panicked. The bed was untouched or whatever. No one was there! I checked the bathroom, she was not there. I looked everywhere in that room but she was not there. I looked for Sylvia but I can’t find her. I looked everywhere for Sylvia but she’s not around. I don’t know where to look for Via so I just went back to Jane and asked her. But before she could answer, something came up.

“Not surprising to see you here, Xavier.”

What is he doing here? Did he became nicer that he’s now talking to his employees? “Where is Via?”

“I’m sorry, lad, but we can’t tell you.”

“What? Why?”

He chuckled. And it was irritating. “You love her so much, do you?”

“Is it obvious?”

He smirked. “I’m sorry, lover boy. Via’s not going to see you anymore. Good bye.”

“You bas—“

“Guards.”

They threw me out.

I don’t know where she is! I’ve been texting Sylvia but she won’t reply. I tried calling her but she won’t answer. I tried everything to connect with her but nothing’s working! She was my only connection to Via but now she’s lost! I don’t want to lose Via anymore. I have to do something.
