I ran into Madison's room and barged in again. I winced at the look of her. "Moon Goddess warned me again." She took her attention off of the wall and looked at me with a horrified expression. "I'll call a meeting," her voice was barley audible. I watched her stand up in her blood soaked clothes and followed her outside to the meeting area. Everyone come for a Pack meeting. It's urgent.
I sat down below Madison and watched her command the pack. She did very well for what i saw yesterday. I watched as four wolves pulled into our territory. The fighters had guns trained on them, the only ones we had. Scouts were surrounding them in a tight circle as two men stepped out. "Alpha Zachary of Feathered Sun Pack. We're here to help." The scouts backed up and let the men walk to me and Madison. There was still another two wolves in the back of the car. I looked at them, their pack markings were evident, and the Alpha had curly dark hair, and who I guessed was a scout had red hair.
"I'm here to speak with Beta Tara and Alpha Madison." I stepped forward to them, "I'm Tara. What exactly did we need help with?" Zachary put on a blank expression. He made hand sign to the other wolf and low and behold, stood Camille. Her hair was slick and her shirt was bloody. I Camille pulled out a gun of her own and shot me.
I screamed in pain and fell to the floor. My chest was shot. I laid on the floor with nobody even moving around me. I cried silently until my eyes closed.
I opened them back up to see Leyton back in human form. He was sweating a lot and I was back on the metal table. "What happened Tara? Was it me?" I shook my head violently ignoring the pain my my neck. My chest still felt like it was being shot. A different doctor looked at me.
"I'm pretty sure she had a hallucination," he said. I was breathing fast and my heart rate was up. The doctor brought a wheelchair for me and I sat in it. He wheeled me up to a room. Leyton picked me up in his arms and sat on the bed with me. I laid on his chest and clenched his shirt. He pet my hair and whispered nothings into my hair.
"We're going to keep her here to give her sleeping tests." Leyton nodded to the doctor and that was a signal for the doctor to leave. "What happened baby? Was it a hallucination like the doctor said?" I tried to mind link him but it took too much. I pointed to my head and tapped it. I went through what happened in my head. Leyton's eyes filled will tears and were clouded with some emotion that I couldn't decipher. "Sorry," I whispered. "You're not supposed to talk." I frowned. It's hard when you have so much to stay.
He nodded and told me to try to sleep. My breathing eventually evened out and I fell asleep.
I awoke to doctors poking needles into my arms and drawing blood and starting an IV. I clenched my jaw and tried to keep from whimpering. I was still on Leyton's chest and he was messing with my hair and trying to keep me calm. They finished taking blood and made me sit up to take my blood pressure.
I spent the whole night getting woken up by doctors and then falling back asleep. I feel horrible for Leyton, he had to wake up too. "You are free to roam around, make sure Leyton is with you the entire time though," the doctor said to me. I stood up like usual and walked around the hospital. It was big, since wolves were big and got into fights often.
I walked outside into the freezing weather, thank Moon Goddess I was wearing a jacket and leggings. I wandered around before feeling another gust of wind, it scared me so I ran into Leyton's arms. As I realized that I didn't smell Moon Goddess, I walked away from him. After the gust of wind hit, the snow started. I went around to the packhouse and saw Camille at the door. I didn't smell anything so figured everything was alright. All of a sudden it was dark, well darker than usual. Maybe I am dreaming.
I walked down the stairs from the packhouse like on the first day I had my injury. There I saw Amy, I saw the scars left by the battle and frowned. She gave me a mad look and went to the soup that was boiling hot. I sat down and started talking like nothing was holding me back, "hey Amy, how are-" I was cut off by the boiling soup hitting my face. It burned, and I gasped for air as I felt my skin burn away. I used my sleeves to try and wipe the soup away, and it didn't work. "Words tell stories, but not the true ones!"
I woke up in my hospital bed again. My face burned like hell and I shrieked. The doctor grabbed my arms and I saw the blood on my hands. "Tara you ripped some skin from your face!" I looked at Leyton who looked scared. I have to take my medication. Leyton shook his head and linked back, they think that that's what is causing the hallucinations.
Okay. The doctor let go of my hands and my heart hurt again. "We're going to give you ointment for your face and give you hallucinations medicine." I nodded as the pain in my neck was getting much more tolerable. Leyton asked what this one was about and I pointed to my head again. I went through the scary memory. "I wasn't in the hallucination, but I was there in real life when it happened, weird," he said pulling me onto his lap in the chair he was sitting on.
"I'm so sorry princess."
