Confused, Patrick got up from where he had been sitting on the ground with Natasha. He had the day off of work and Pete had left to go pick up a friend from the airport. Why was Ryan here?
Natasha crawled after Patrick as he made his way to the door. He pulled it open to, indeed, reveal Ryan standing on the other side.
"Agent Romanoff!" He exclaimed as Natasha squealed with excitement at the sight of him. The toddler pushed herself up and rushed towards Ryan. He quickly scooped her up and grinned at her. "Miss me?"
"What's up, Ry?" Patrick asked as he gestured his friend inside, "Where's Brendon?"
"He's recording stuff with Max, which meant I needed to be quiet, but I didn't feel like being quiet today." Ryan said, smiling at Natasha the entire time he spoke. He walked over to the couch with her before setting her down on the seat beside him. He then looked at Patrick. "Where's Pete?"
"He's out." Patrick said, we watching Natasha wiggle her way off the couch. He didn't want her to fall.
By watching her, however, he missed Ryan's face light up with glee. "Perfect. We can really get down to business!" He clapped his hands together and rubbed them mischievously.
"What business?" Natasha was down and hurrying back to where her toys were, giving Patrick the okay to look at Ryan with question.
Ryan rolled his eyes. "Do you even realize what day it is?"
"Yes? The eighth."
"Of?"
"October?"
"Something big is coming up!" Ryan threw his arms in the air, "Don't you dare tell me you forgot."
Patrick was quiet. He wasn't positive as to where Ryan was leading.
"Your wedding anniversary is on Halloween you forgetful cupcake." Ryan exclaimed, "We have to make you guys bitching plans to celebrate!"
Patrick's eyes widened. "Oh, shit." He had forgotten. Between checking up on Kellin, caring for Natasha, and everything else that had been going on in his life, he had forgotten his own wedding anniversary. He swore again.
"Not in front of the baby, Patrick."
"Ryan, what am I going to do!?" Patrick anxiously pushed his fingers through his hair. He still had time to plan, but what would he even plan? What about Natasha? They would miss trick-or-treating with her if they did manage to do something. "Oh no, oh no..."
"Hey, hey!" Ryan jumped off the couch to hurry to Patrick's side. He draped his arm across his friend's shoulders. "Relax. You're friends with an amazing party planner, several musicians, and your kid's Fairy Gay Parent™." he grinned, widely,"I'm sure Dallon & Breezy's tiny would love to trick-or-treat with Agent Romanoff."
Natasha waddled over to Patrick at that instance. She had grabbed his fedora from the coffee table and was examining it with amazed curiosity. Patrick crouched down to her level with a smile. He gently pulled the hat from her grip and placed it on her head.
"I can't miss her first Halloween, Ry." he couldn't help but hold his smile as Natasha squealed loudly. She trailed off into giggled, pulling the hat down to hide her face. "I'm still getting to know her." He laughed, but his smile faltered. "I don't want to miss anything yet."
Ryan nodded. He knelt down beside Patrick. "Okay." He paused for a moment. "The night before." He reasoned, "Halloweve and slipping into the early morning so you're free to take her out at night." He lifted the hat out of Natasha's grip and dropped it on her head. The toddler giggled with a smile that lit up her expression of glee.
Patrick considered the offer. "Who will watch her?"
"I'm offended that you even have to ask."
"Okay." A smile tugged at his lips, "Do you think Breezy's up for it?"
Ryan pushed air past his lips, "That woman is up for anything. I admire that about her."
Patrick turned to look at his friend. Ryan shot him a lopsided grin.
"Shall I make the call?"
Patrick turned to look at Natasha, who had plopped to her butt to further examine his hat. It was a plan and if anyone could pull it off, his friends could.
He turned to Ryan with a grin. "You shall."
